We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you endure the relentless pain and weakness caused by arthritis. The weariness you feel, both in body and spirit, is not unseen by our Heavenly Father, who promises to be near to the brokenhearted and to save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We know this season has been especially difficult, as the progress you had made now feels overshadowed by renewed suffering. But we declare that God is your strength, even when your own body fails you.
The Word of God reminds us that His grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Though you may feel like you can do nothing, we pray that the Lord would sustain you, renew your strength, and give you rest, both in your body and in the quiet of the night. We rebuke the spirit of weariness and pain in the name of Jesus, commanding it to loose its grip on your joints, your muscles, and your peace. The Lord did not give you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7), and we stand on that truth for you today.
We also lift up your nights, asking the Lord to calm your mind and body so that you may sleep. The psalmist writes, "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety" (Psalm 4:8). May the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3) wrap you in His peace, easing your pain so that you may rest in Him.
If you have not already, we encourage you to seek godly wisdom in managing your condition, whether through medical care, physical therapy, or natural remedies that align with biblical stewardship of the body. The Lord can work through these means to bring relief. And though the pain may feel overwhelming, remember that you are not alone. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister, lifting up their pain and weakness to You. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too hard for You. We ask that You would touch their body, ease their suffering, and restore their strength. Give them restful sleep, Father, and let them wake refreshed in Your presence. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name, declaring that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). May they feel Your nearness in this trial, and may Your peace guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Hold fast to hope, dear one. The Lord sees your struggle, and He will not abandon you. Keep pressing into Him, for He is your strength in weakness.
