Are we supposed to be happy every minute of every day?

A lot of Christians think if we're anything less than deliriously happy every minute of every day of our lives it's a sin. But does God really see it that way,and does the Bible really state that?.For example, if a Christian goes to the funeral of an unsaved loved one,{and knowing that the person will be in the Lake of Fire for ever--while others are mourning, is the Christian supposed to start running up and down the aisles shaking a tambourine and celebrating, to prove their "happiness" that their loved one is in hell? You see what I mean, in some cases, certain emotions are out of context with the situation. If we go to minister to a nation with a famine, if a kid expresses discomfort that he's starving, are we supposed to scold him because he should jump up and dance around the room with happiness because of the situation?Let's see what the Bible ACTUALLY says...are there other emotions than happiness mentioned in the Bible, and are people considered sinning when they feel them? The Bible says,"weeping endureth for a night, but joy comes in the morning'.{But the fact that it endured for the night shows that the Bible acknowledges that other emotions exist besides over the top happiness.}"Let the sun not go down on your anger'.{And there is a type of righteous anger, like when Jesus overturned the table of the moneychangers in the synagogue.}So, what of the other emotions? Does God understand,, having created us, that we have a range of emotions, and with changing circumstances, different emotions might be triggered? And that we all have different temperaments?I think God understands that, better than some Christians who tell you you're sinning if you show emotions other than happiness, like grief at the funeral of an unsaved loved one.Like if your dentist tells you you have to get root canal, but he ran out of novocaine,do you mean to tell me that you should jump out of the chair and dance for joy, because the dentist will do a root canal without novocaine? And condemn another Christian who doesn't react that way? Come on...

Praying with and for you in Jesus.

We can do everything Jesus did and more! We can speak; sickness leave in Jesus! Be healed by Jesus stripes! I am healed by Jesus stripes! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

You can copy and paste this to pray every day and share...

There is nothing that happens for us that is bad. All things work for our good in Jesus! Look at everything as good!

Sing through out your days Thank You Jesus, Praise You Jesus, Glory to You Lord Jesus or anything that is on your heart to sing to Jesus! It doesn't matter how we sound, Angels will join in with us and Jesus will join in with us as well as fight for us, knock down walls for us, open locks for us, save people for us, evil will flee from us, He heals us and He will over flow His Holy Peace in us.

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Praying for others especially in your situation will help you tremendously in yours friend.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

Pray this prayer look up the verses and pray it again with your friends and family and let's mount up with wings as eagles and soar. Soar with me.

Let Us Pray: God I ask in Jesus' name, bless me to grow closer to You. I long for a more intimate relationship with You. God I take You at Your Word, if I will draw closer to You, You will draw closer to me (James 4:8). Show me how to draw closer to You. Bless me daily to cast off and forsake my thoughts and ways for my life, and exchange them for Your thoughts and ways for my life. Let me think Your thoughts and dream Your dreams for my life. God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7). I confess, I will take no thought for my life. I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.

Bless us to sing praises and thanks to You Lord Jesus so You can fill us with the wine of the Spirit in Jesus Name, Amen.

Some people really like to hold onto things. How long have you been stating the same negativity? Doesn't Jesus also say let the dead bury the dead? Counting everything as joy is not the same thing as jumping up and down with extreme excitement because so and so is dead! Jesus gives us all a way out of our sorrows by telling us to take no thought for our lives for we don't have to think about things that gives us sorrows! Our joy should always be that of Jesus having saved us from having to spend an eternity in the lake of lava, the lake of liquid fire!

No one said that it is a sin not to count something or everything as joy other than you my friend!

If you find enjoyment out of getting a root canal with no novocaine,,that doesn't make you a better Christian. It's masochism.

Are you very intelligent? Didn't I already explain at another time that I would either go to someone else or wait until the dentist had what He needed? I can still take my mind off of any pain and only think of what Jesus did for me can't I? I'm not a masochist Steven! Do you really think Jesus teaches us to be masochists by following His teachings to count everything as joy or to take no thought for our lives? Wouldn't it be better for all of us to ask Jesus to give us His understanding instead of calling His teachings masochistic?

I have many times laid on the ground looking up into the Heavens after becoming overflowed with extreme pain and thanked Jesus and praised Jesus for His salvation and His rescuing me from Hell to take my mind off of the pain I was in asking Him to heal me and deliver me from the pain thanking Him and praising Him for the healing and the deliverance in advance. Is that what a masochist would do? Is that what you would do?

We may not have control over an accident but we seem to have control of what we do afterwards! My son one time came to my rescue after an accident I had and he lifted a 4 wheeler off of me and asked if I wanted him to take me to a hospital. I said no, Jesus will heal me and I crawled into the car! Some of us spend our lives believing to a point that we know God is going to bless us and some of us give up on God yet God doesn't give up on us!

All of the answers to everything you desire to know are all found in the pages of the Bible yet will we obey the instructions needed to fully understand? Sometimes God forces us to do His instructions so we must force ourselves to do His instructions before He does :)

Well, I'm not a one emotion person, and why would we have other emotions if we're supposed to experience only one, happiness? Are we supposed to just throw our other emotions in the garbage? It's about preferences of experiences, winning the lottery for $20,000,000, and having a car siren wake you up in the middle of the night are 2 different experiences, whether you think so or not.I don't think you understand the difference.

I understand the difference between counting it all as joy and happiness! No where in the Bible does Jesus say to count it all as happy! Joyous and happiness are 2 different things Steven! I can be sad and still count Jesus as my joy in all situations, eventually I will be happy again if I'm sad. I experience all emotions all the while still counting Jesus as my joy! Being happy and counting everything as joy are 2 different things, 2 different emotions Steven. I'm not going to say that you don't get that but I hope that you one day do understand that in Jesus!

As we study the Bible over our lifetime we can go from believing I chose Jesus to Jesus chose me. We can go from believing that happiness is being joyful to believing that we can be joyful when we are sad, angry or in pain. Everything is perceived in us as Jesus gives us perception! We can't fully believe anything unless our Creator/Jesus gives us His understanding so we should always be asking for Jesus to give us His understanding :)

Everything comes forth from Jesus and everything goes back to Him so we can say that all of our clients both good and bad came to us from Jesus and what do we do with that? Are we as thankful for the good calls as well as the bad? I am more so thankful for the bad clients than the good for the bad need to hear of Jesus more so than the ones that already know Jesus. Being thankful takes the devil out of our lives where murmuring and complaining opens the door wider for the devil to get a stronger hold on us and send us more troubles. Why would we desire to have the devil in our lives even more so?

You can win the lottery and still have people waking you up all night asking of you Steven :)

Well, I feel it's more "realistic" to voice my honest emotions than say I'm overjoyed over a certain circumstance when I'm not, which would be a lie on my part.Just saying, the Bible doesn't deny other emotions, like,"To everything there is a time, a time to laugh, A TIME TO CRY",Jesus wept when coming to Lazarus, weeping endures for a night. That's just as much in the Bible as the other stuff.Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn.Even at the Flood, God the Father,"And God looked down at mankind, and all the thoughts of his heart were continually evil all the time, and it GRIEVED HIM that He had made man."What that tells me, is there's more than one emotion. If we're made in Gods image, and even Jesus and God the Father felt grief, you walking around with a big ear to ear smile on your face 24/7/365,I don't know...

I don't walk around grinning all the time. Why must you think you know what someone else does when you don't and cannot know. There are times when I must ask Jesus to help me count something as joy or at the least count Jesus as my joy! You don't always have Jesus as your joy?

If you can't voice something as joy than isn't that a good time to be silent about a matter rather than having the matter continue to consume you and come back to you?
