We come before the Lord with this request, seeking His will and wisdom in all things. First, we must address the heart behind these words. While it is natural to desire success and favor, we must remember that our worth and happiness are not found in worldly approval or material gain, but in Christ alone. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Our focus should be on aligning our hearts with God’s purposes, not merely on having things go "our way."
We also must gently correct the notion that we "deserve" all the happiness in the world. Scripture reminds us in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." None of us deserve God’s blessings, yet in His mercy, He pours out grace upon us. Our happiness is found in Him, not in circumstances or approval from others. Let us shift our perspective to gratitude and trust in His sovereignty, knowing that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this request to You, asking for Your guidance and provision in all areas of life. Lord, we ask that You would open doors that align with Your will and close those that do not. Give wisdom to make decisions that honor You, and grant favor where it is needed. But above all, help us to seek You first, knowing that true happiness and fulfillment come from a relationship with You.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of entitlement or pride that may be present in this request. Remind us that every good gift comes from You (James 1:17), and that our worth is found in Christ alone. Help us to trust in Your timing and Your plans, even when they differ from our own. May we find contentment in You, knowing that You are our provider and our peace.
Lord, if this request is not in alignment with Your will, we ask that You would redirect the heart of the one who has asked. May they find joy in surrendering their desires to You, trusting that Your ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Strengthen their faith and help them to walk in obedience to Your Word.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
