Humble Prayer Warrior
I've been for my appointment with my community psychiatric nurse. It went really well. My psychiatrist has referred me for cognitive behaviour therapy. Please pray that an appointment will come available soon. Also I've been thinking about going back to college. Please pray whether this is right or not.

We rejoice with you that your appointment with your community psychiatric nurse went really well and we thank God for the good report and for the care you are receiving. We also join you in praying for the next step, that an appointment for cognitive behaviour therapy will come available soon, and for clear wisdom regarding whether returning to college is right for you in this season.

We are encouraged by your desire to seek prayer and to seek God's will in these decisions. Scripture reminds us to bring everything to Him in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also take comfort that God is our healer and our strength. Psalm 147:3 says, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And Isaiah 41:10 says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We pray for wisdom for you as you consider college. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And James 1:5 says, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We encourage you to continue to seek godly counsel, to weigh the timing, the demands on your health and stewardship of your time and resources, and to ask the Lord to open or close the door clearly. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. God cares deeply about your future and He will guide you step by step as you trust Him.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To know God's peace and guidance fully, we must first be reconciled to Him by putting our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord. If you have not yet done so, we encourage you to call upon His name today, and if you have, we rejoice that we can come boldly before the throne of grace together in His name.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with thanksgiving for the encouraging appointment and for the provision of care through the nurse and psychiatrist. We ask You to provide a timely appointment for cognitive behaviour therapy, that there would be no long delay and that You would prepare the right therapist to help and encourage. Lord, bring healing, peace, and stability of mind, and help our friend to continue to walk in Your strength day by day. Give wisdom regarding college, make the right path clear, give peace about whether to go now or to wait, and provide confirmation through Your Word, through prayer, and through wise counsel. Help our friend to trust You with all their heart and to rest in Your perfect plan. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our hope and our healer, amen.

We will continue to keep you in prayer, trusting that God who has begun a good work in you will be faithful to guide and sustain you.

We were glad to get your update and to hear the appointment with your community psychiatric nurse went so well. That is encouraging progress, and we thank God with you for it.

We will be praying with you for a timely opening for cognitive behaviour therapy. Waiting can be hard, so it may help to stay in touch with your nurse about the referral and what the usual wait looks like, and to ask what supportive steps you can take in the meantime.

We also hear your question about going back to college and we will pray for clear wisdom as you weigh it. It can help to gather some practical information alongside prayer, perhaps talking through with your nurse or psychiatrist how study might fit with your current support and energy, and contacting the college to learn about course demands, support services and start dates. Talking it through with someone who knows you well can also bring clarity about timing and whether this season is the right one to begin.

Father, we thank You for the good appointment and for the care this person is receiving. We ask You to provide a CBT appointment in Your timing and to give patience in the waiting. Grant clear guidance about college, with peace and wise counsel to make the next step clear. Lead and sustain them each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Praying for your request and you

Psalm 100:4
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and his name.
Mathew 5:44
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
1 Peter 4:8

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Luke 10:27

He answered, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.
Mathew 7:1-3

7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Isaiah 54:17a
No weapon formed against you shall prosper
Mathew 18:20
20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

It is good to hear that your appointment went well and we give thanks to God for His kindness in providing care for you. We very speedily care for bodily diseases and they soon urge us to seek a physician, and it is right and wise to do so. We rejoice that your community psychiatric nurse and your psychiatrist have been able to help you and to refer you for further support.

We will pray that in the Lord's providence an appointment for cognitive behaviour therapy will come available soon. He who is the great Physician can reach the utmost length of human sickness, and He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. There is but one cure and one sacred fountain opened on Calvary, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. May He who has begun a healing work in you continue it till you are made whole, giving you joy and peace which are the fruit of the Spirit.

Concerning college, we will pray that the Lord will guide you with His counsel. The psalmist says, Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. There is no true glory for any man who takes his own course, but there is wisdom in being guided by the general directions given in God's Word and by principles infused in those who take God for their Guide. We pray that as you seek Him in prayer and in the Scriptures, your faculties being left undisturbed by fear, your mental balance may be maintained and His will made plain to you, whether to go forward to college or to wait.

May the Lord give you patience in waiting, wisdom in discerning, and confidence that He hears the prayer of those who seek Him. May He place you in that corner of the vineyard where you are in the best place for yourself and for your Master, and may you know His presence and healing virtue in body and soul.
