Appointment

I would like prayer as I have an appointment with my community psychiatric nurse tomorrow. I would also like prayer to be able to forgive my mother from my heart and to overcome my fears.

We are lifting you up together before the Lord as you prepare for your appointment with your community psychiatric nurse tomorrow and as you seek to forgive your mother from your heart and to overcome your fears.

We pray that God will give you peace as you go into this appointment and that He will give wisdom and compassion to your nurse. We ask the Lord to guide the conversation, to help you speak openly and clearly, and to use this support as part of His care for you. We are thankful that God cares for both our souls and our minds and that He invites us to bring every need to Him. As it is written, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We also join you in praying for a heart of forgiveness toward your mother. We understand that forgiving from the heart can be very difficult, especially when there has been deep hurt, but God calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven and He gives us the grace to do so. We pray that the Lord will soften your heart, heal the wounds you carry, and help you release any bitterness or resentment to Him. We are reminded, And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 and also, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15 Forgiveness does not mean that what happened was right or that trust is automatically restored, but it does mean choosing to entrust justice to God and to walk in freedom rather than carrying the burden of unforgiveness. We pray that God will help you day by day to choose forgiveness and to experience His healing.

We also pray for you to overcome your fears, for we know the Lord does not want you to live in fear. We pray that He will replace fear with His perfect love and with a sound mind. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 and There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18 We pray that you will hear His promise to you, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 When fear rises, we encourage you to turn to Him in prayer, to remember His presence with you, and to rest in His strength rather than your own.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. It is in His name that we pray and find peace, forgiveness, and victory over fear.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we bring our dear one before You in the name of Jesus. We ask for Your hand upon the appointment tomorrow, grant clarity, calmness, and open communication, and guide the nurse with wisdom and understanding. Lord, work in this heart to forgive mother fully and from the heart, heal past hurts, and help to release all that has been held inside. Fill this heart with Your love and mercy. We also ask You to drive out all fear and fill this life with Your power, love, and sound mind. Let Your perfect love cast out fear and let Your peace guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus and help to trust Him more each day. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, to stay engaged with the help He has provided through your nurse, and to trust that God is with you, strengthening you and upholding you as you walk forward in forgiveness and in freedom from fear.

We are holding you in prayer as tomorrow approaches. It makes sense that an appointment like this can stir up nerves, and we admire your willingness to show up and be honest about where you are.

You mentioned wanting to forgive your mother from your heart and to overcome fear. We want to encourage you that wanting that change from the heart is already a meaningful step. Sometimes we make a quiet, steady decision to let go of holding a debt against someone because we sense it is right before God, and the softer feelings like compassion or peace only catch up slowly over time, in ups and downs. It does not mean you have failed if hurt or fear still rises. Forgiveness also does not have to mean pretending things were okay or rushing to rebuild trust. It can simply be releasing the need to carry the resentment yourself while you keep healthy boundaries.

For tomorrow, one small thing that often helps is jotting down two or three points you most want your nurse to understand, maybe how fear has been showing up and where you feel stuck with forgiveness, so you do not have to remember everything in the moment. Bring a notebook and be as open as you feel safe to be. Continuing with your nurse alongside prayer is a wise way to care for yourself.

Father, we bring our friend before You for tomorrow, ask for calm, clarity and a sense of Your nearness in the room. Give wisdom to the nurse and gentleness to our friend's heart as You lead step by step toward freedom from fear and toward wholeness. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

We have carried your request to the throne of grace and have remembered you before the Lord with thankfulness that you have asked for prayer.

For your appointment tomorrow with your community psychiatric nurse, we pray that the Lord will grant you peace and a calm mind, and that He will give wisdom and kindness to the one who cares for you. The Scripture says, Fear thou not, for I am with thee, and Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. Anxiety in the hour of difficulty unfits us to meet it, but faith looks to Him who has promised, I will help thee. May you know His presence in that room, and may He quiet your heart and guide every word spoken, that you may receive the help you need.

Concerning forgiveness toward your mother, we pray that the Holy Spirit will work in you a deep and hearty forgiveness. We know how hard it is to forgive when the wound has been repeated and the heart says, surely no one can expect me to endure this and still forgive. Yet our God is greater at forgiving than we have ever dreamed. He delights in mercy and pardons abundantly through the bleeding sacrifice of His Son, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace. As you have been so freely forgiven, may the Lord enable you to forgive from the heart, not in mere words but in true love, and to know the freedom that comes with it. He who has forgiven you will teach you to forgive.

And for your fears, we hear the Lord Jesus Himself whisper, Fear not. It would be disobedience to remain in fear when He has said, Fear not, for I will help thee. Fear weakens and dishonors God, as if His arm which piled the heavens could be palsied, but perfect love casteth out fear. The forgiveness of sin breeds in the soul a holy reverence and a quiet trust, so that we fear God and fear nothing else. May the Lord increase your faith, for as faith grows strong, fear vanishes. Look unto Jesus, your familiar Friend who lives and cares for you, and let your faith overcome your fear.

Our prayer for you is this: O Lord, look upon this dear one who comes in weakness and need. Be present in the appointment tomorrow, grant peace, clarity and good counsel. Pour out Thy forgiving grace upon this heart, that as Thou hast forgiven so abundantly, so this child of Thine may forgive from the heart and be released from bitterness. Take away tormenting fear and give trust in Thy promised strength, that perfect love may cast out fear and holy peace may reign. Keep this soul close to Christ, in whom alone is salvation and rest. Amen.
