Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for peace of mind and for confidence has been heard, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord.
Anxiety presses heavily and can banish from the mind the remembrance of God's care, as pressure once did even to the disciples. Yet Christ looks upon those who are troubled with a mild and tender care to soothe the shuddering heart and to give confidence. What is impossible with men is possible with God, and He is able to steady you when you feel overwhelmed.
Scripture teaches that to be spiritually minded is life and peace, and that true peace is not merely the absence of outward trouble, but peace with God through faith. When the heart trusts fully in Him rather than in its own strength, it finds a cheerful confidence in what is to come. A pure conscience before Him also gives boldness and helps to lift that pale and trembling anxiety which weighs you down.
I pray that God will grant you His peace, the peace which He leaves to His own, which makes you strong within even when outward pressures remain. May He give you a calm and confident spirit, rooted in faith and love, and help you to set your mind on things above. I pray that He will give you wisdom and steadiness in every task at your work, that you may do all things well and faithfully for His glory.
I also pray for your workplace, that the Lord will foster there a spirit of respect and kindness among all who labor together. Where people are of one mind and live in peace, the God of love and peace is present, and He delights to remove what is harmful and to establish what is good. May He help you and those around you to put away what destroys charity and to practice what builds it up, so that your environment may be comfortable, respectful, and ordered in virtue.
May the Lord comfort you, perfect you, and keep you in His love and peace, and may He replace your overwhelm with quiet confidence in His power and goodness. Amen.
