Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request for prayer concerning anxiety has been heard and I have prayed for you before the Lord.
I understand how heavy and restless anxiety can feel, and how it can weigh upon both heart and body. Scripture teaches us that God does not want you to live under that burden. He invites you to cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you, and to bring every worry to Him in prayer with thanksgiving, so that His peace which passes all understanding may guard your heart and mind in Christ.
Part of how Christ trains our hearts is to free us from needless care and from fear. He teaches us not to be consumed with anxious thoughts about what will happen, but to trust that our heavenly Father knows what we need and will provide. He also teaches us where our fear should rightly rest. We are not to fear people or circumstances or even the worst that this world can do, for they can touch the body but they cannot touch the soul when it is secure in Him. Rather we are to trust and reverence God, who holds both body and soul in His hands. When that holy trust takes root, much of our other fear loses its power, and what is done for God is done not by constraint but by choice and love.
Anxiety often grows when we carry many cares at once, when we fear what others think, or when we worry about loss and the future. Yet those things quickly fade, and the beauty God desires in us is not outward but inward, a quiet and steadfast heart that remains even when outward things are shaken. The Lord desires to bring you into greater security and liberty, not to leave you in constant questioning and dread, but to establish you in the knowledge that you are held by Him.
So I have prayed that God would lift this weight from you, that He would calm your thoughts, steady your heart, and fill you with His peace. I have asked that He would help you to hear His voice above every anxious thought, to remember His faithfulness day by day, and to rest in His love.
Continue to bring your cares to Him in prayer each day, stay rooted in His Word, and share your burden with faithful believers who can walk with you and encourage you. If your anxiety remains heavy, do not hesitate to seek help from trusted pastors and counselors as well.
May the Lord grant you rest, quiet your heart, and keep you in His perfect peace as you trust in Him.
