Anxiety

We hear your request for prayer for anxiety and we join with you now to bring this burden before our heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.

We know anxiety can feel overwhelming and heavy on the heart and mind, but we are reminded that God sees you, He cares deeply for you, and He invites you to bring every worry to Him. Scripture tells us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are also told to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and to cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you Psalm 55:22. Jesus Himself said Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful John 14:27. And we cling to the promise Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. So we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, to call upon His name not only for peace in anxiety but for forgiveness and eternal life, and to come to God through Him in all prayer.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is struggling with anxiety. Lord, You know the thoughts that race, the sleepless moments, the tightness in the chest, and the fear that tries to take hold. We ask that You pour out Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding upon this heart and mind. Help us to cast every care upon You, trusting that You care for us and that You will sustain us. Calm the troubled heart, quiet the anxious thoughts, and remind us of Your presence that never leaves us. Teach us to seek You first in prayer with thanksgiving, to rest in Your strength and not our own, and to walk in the power, love and self-control You have given through Your Holy Spirit. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus, build up faith, and let Your joy and hope be renewed each day. We ask that if this anxiety is persistent, You would provide wise and godly counsel and help, and that You would be glorified as You bring healing and peace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every worry to the Lord in prayer throughout the day, to meditate on His Word, and to remember that He invites you to come to Him Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. Keep your eyes on Jesus, rest in His promises, and trust that He is working for your good as you walk with Him.

Thank you for sharing this so simply and honestly. We are glad you reached out and we want to stand with you in prayer.

Anxiety can be so wearing, affecting both thoughts and body at once and making rest and daily tasks feel harder. Please know you are not alone in this struggle, and reaching out as you have is a caring step toward yourself and toward God.

When worry stays heavy or keeps returning, it can be a good kindness to yourself to talk with someone you trust, like a pastor, counselor or your doctor, alongside bringing it to the Lord in prayer. You do not have to sort through it all on your own, and having another person listen can bring clarity and support as you seek next steps.

We are praying for you and will keep praying.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the weight of anxiety they carry and You care deeply for them. We ask for Your peace to guard their heart and mind, for wisdom as they seek help and support, and for steady assurance that they are held by You each day. Lead them gently and give them rest. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request concerning anxiety has been heard and has been carried to the throne of grace, and we join with you in seeking the Lord for that peace which He alone can give.

You do well to bring this burden to Him, for anxiety unfits you to meet the very difficulty which causes it, and the mind is the main thing which will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war. Do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry and fretfulness, but tell it unto the Lord. If anxiety is confined to yourself and you are only telling yourself about it, no good will come of that, but when it is told out unto your God, He hears and He helps.

The word of the Lord to you is, Fear not, for I will help thee. Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. This Fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden, and it is not merely the preacher who cries Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, Fear not. To remain in fear when He has said Fear not is disobedience, for His promise is given in many ways that we may chase fear away. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God, as though the arm which piled the heavens could be palsied, and perfect love casts out fear, for fear hath torment.

The Lord has promised a present possession for such a time as this, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Peace, perfect peace, even in this dark world of sin, for the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round, for on Jesus bosom nothing but calm is found. Bear your sorrow with Him, stay your mind upon Him, and you shall find that to do the will of Jesus is rest.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, who hast promised to keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed upon Thee, look in mercy upon this anxious heart. Thou knowest the cares which press and the sorrows which surge round. Forgive all sin through the precious blood of Jesus, and let that blood whisper peace within. Help this dear soul to trust Thy promised strength, to labor to cast fear away, and to find rest in doing Thy will. Let not fear reign, but let faith grow stronger, for as faith grows strong, fear vanishes. Keep this one in Thy keeping, give calm in the midst of duties and quietness in the night watches, and let Thy peace which passeth all understanding guard heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Grant a holy reverence for Thee and deliverance from all other fear, that being upheld by Thy right hand, this soul may walk in cheerful trust and know Thy blessing of peace. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer we ask it, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
