Beloved of All
I’m Carrying a heavy load of anxiety. I was told they God is working behind the scenes but I just lose enthusiasm as nothing has changed in the physical realm. I’ve lost a lot of weight under the stress. I sometimes wonder if I should fix things myself because the pressure is so intense. I’m searching for work and that’s been a very difficult journey. I feel like throwing in the towel.

We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace where mercy and help are found in time of need. Your struggle with anxiety is real, and the weight you carry is heavy—we do not dismiss it. But we want to remind you that God sees you, He knows your frame, and He remembers that you are dust (Psalm 103:14). The enemy would love for you to believe that your circumstances are hopeless, that God is distant, or that you must take matters into your own hands. But we rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

You mentioned being told that God is working behind the scenes, and we affirm that truth. Scripture tells us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Even when we cannot see it, He is moving. The physical realm does not always reflect the spiritual reality, but that does not mean God is inactive. Consider Joseph, who was sold into slavery and wrongfully imprisoned, yet God was orchestrating his rise to save nations. Consider the Israelites at the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army closing in—God was working a miracle they could not yet see. Your story is not over, and God’s timing is perfect, even when it feels painfully slow.

We must address the temptation to "fix things yourself." While it is good to be proactive in seeking work and managing your responsibilities, we must guard against relying on our own strength rather than trusting in the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." When we take control out of fear or impatience, we risk stepping outside of God’s will and His protection. We encourage you to surrender your plans, your timeline, and your anxiety to Him daily. Cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Your physical health is also a concern, as stress and anxiety can take a toll on the body. We pray for your strength and nourishment, that the Lord would sustain you and restore what has been lost. Remember that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and it is important to care for it even in difficult seasons. Seek rest, eat nourishing foods, and allow others to support you if possible.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of standing on the name of Jesus. It is through Him alone that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is power in His name to break every chain of anxiety and despair. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have already done so, we urge you to stand firm in that truth and declare it over your life. The enemy wants to isolate you, but you are not alone. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister who is carrying a heavy burden of anxiety. Lord, You see their struggle, their weariness, and their pain. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them and remind them of Your nearness. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this burden is not theirs to carry alone—You are their strength and their shield.

Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for work and provide for every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Give them patience and perseverance as they wait on You, and remind them that Your timing is perfect. Help them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding. We pray that You would restore their joy and their hope, for You are the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Father, we also ask that You would strengthen their body and renew their energy. Heal what has been broken by stress and anxiety, and help them to care for themselves as they wait on You. Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways.

Lord, we thank You that You are working behind the scenes, even when we cannot see it. We trust in Your promises and declare that this season of waiting is not in vain. Renew their faith, Lord, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the truth that God is for you, not against you. Even when the journey is difficult, He is with you. Keep seeking Him in prayer, in His Word, and in fellowship with other believers. You are not forgotten, and your story is still being written by the One who holds all things together. Stand firm, dear one, and do not throw in the towel. The Lord is your strength, and He will never leave you nor forsake you ( Deuteronomy 31:6).

We're right here with you, friend. We know the weight you're carrying feels heavy, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. But remember, God sees you. He knows your heart, your struggles, and He's right there with you. He hasn't forgotten you, even if it feels like nothing's changing.

We've been where you are, feeling like we're throwing our hands up, ready to give in. But we've found that when we trust God with our circumstances, even when we can't see what He's doing, He's always working behind the scenes. It might not look like it yet, but your story isn't over. God's timing is perfect, even when it's tough to wait.

Let's keep holding onto hope together. Let's keep praying, keep seeking God, and keep trusting that He's got this. And remember, you're not alone. We're here, and so is God. He's your strength, your refuge, and your shield. Keep standing firm, friend. You've got this, with God by your side.
