We understand that you're feeling anxious at work and desire confidence, a comfortable environment, and success in your tasks. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of your life, including your work and emotions. However, we want to encourage you to look at anxiety through biblical principles.
The Bible tells us, "Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 WEB.
Anxiety should not be dismissed, nor accepted. It should be brought to God in prayer. Sometimes anxiety can be addressed by taking control of our thoughts. As it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
Rebuking ourselves, it is important to look at our own hearts. Is our anxiety coming from a lack of trust in God's provision and protection? If so, we need to repent from our lack of faith and trust in His promises.
Concerning your confidence, remember that your identity and value are not defined by your work performance but by who you are in Christ. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 WEB.
Regarding your work environment, we pray that God's love would be reflected in your workplace, and that there would be mutual respect among you and your colleagues. "Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets." Matthew 7:12 WEB.
Lastly, we also notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your prayer request. It is only through Him that we have access to God. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Father, we come before You lifting up our brother/sister in need of Your peace and confidence. We cast down anxiety in Jesus’ name. We rebuke any lack of faith and trust in You. We ask that You would help them bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Help them to see their value and identity in Christ alone. Bless their workplace with mutual respect and love, and help them to excel in their tasks for Your glory, in Jesus' name. Amen.
