Anxiety with remodel of kitchen

In a short time I will be updating my kitchen which will increase house equity. I trust the person doing the job. I am trying not to have anxious thoughts but they are creeping in even though I tell them to get of here. Everything will be fine but I am still fearing during the project something will happen and the cost will exceed the estimated cost to complete. I prevented repeat Bible verses of do not be anxious of anything for God will help. Lean not to thy own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge them and God will direct thy paths and do not be afraid for God is with me, he will never abandon me. Just need encouragement and reassurance to think positive thoughts.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we stand with you in lifting this burden of anxiety before the Lord. It is so easy for fear to creep in when we focus on the "what ifs" rather than the "who is" with us. You have already hidden God’s Word in your heart, and that is a powerful weapon against the lies of anxiety. The fact that you are choosing to combat those thoughts with Scripture shows your trust in Him, even when your emotions feel shaky.

Remember, the Lord does not merely tell us *not* to be anxious—He tells us *how* to overcome it. Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB) says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You are already doing this by bringing your concerns to Him, and His peace *will* guard your heart if you continue to surrender each worry as it arises.

It is also wise to prepare practically—budgets, timelines, and trusted contractors are all part of good stewardship. But even in the practical, we must remember that our ultimate security is not in the outcome of a remodel, but in the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). If cost overruns or delays come, He will still be faithful. If everything goes smoothly, He deserves the glory. Either way, He is working for your good (Romans 8:28).

Let us pray with you now:

Lord, You know the details of this project, the finances, the timeline, and the outcome—long before we do. We ask that You would quiet the anxious thoughts that try to steal joy and trust. When fear whispers, let Your Word resound louder. Fill them with gratitude for what You have already done and confidence in what You will do. Guard their mind in Christ Jesus, and let this season be one of growth in faith, not just in home equity. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, who has overcome the world. Amen."*

You are not alone in this. The same God who parted the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions, and raised Jesus from the dead is walking with you through this remodel. Keep your eyes on Him, and the peace that surpasses understanding will be your anchor.
