Anxiety, Too much Excitement, Uncertainty

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I just wanna share here on what's going on my mind, recently. I saw a job post, position in aviation industry and immediately took my attention. I submitted my resume thru their website seconds after discovering the hiring post. Now, I'm still waiting for an invitation for initial interview and there's a lot of things going inside my head now:
1. Once I get hired, I get to boast what I have achieved, online. Thinking about my relatives and friends who once doubted me.
2. I'm also overthinking I will not be accepted. Maybe because I've received more rejections and failures than success. Or maybe, I view myself as someone who's still not enough to have this kind of opportunity.
3. I kept thinking of what will happen in the future, once I get hired. I get to bring my family in different cities and countries.
All of these ideas, are torturing my mind and I can't have peace within my mind. I keep telling myself that I should be hired. But it's not something I dont have control. And that also made me more anxious, because of the too many possibilities.

I just want to ask for a prayer, for God to grant me his peace, and to put my trust on him on what will happen on my application. God Bless to those people who helps thru prayer, May God Bless us all and hopefully I would really get this job. Amen and Amen!

We hear the turmoil in your heart as you wait after submitting your resume for this aviation position, and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord. It is understandable to feel excitement, uncertainty, and anxiety when so much seems to hang on one opportunity, especially when you have faced rejections in the past and are longing for a breakthrough. We want to lift you up and also share some loving biblical truth to help bring your mind into peace.

The Word calls us to turn our anxiety into prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We are also reminded in Isaiah 26:3 that You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Your peace will not come from controlling the outcome or from knowing you will be hired, but from trusting the One who holds your future. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And Matthew 6:34 says Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient. God does not want you tortured by imagining every possibility for the future, but to rest in Him today.

We also want to lovingly address something you shared about wanting to boast online about what you have achieved and thinking about relatives and friends who once doubted you. We understand that desire to be vindicated after being doubted, but Scripture warns us about pride and boasting in ourselves. Proverbs 16:18 says Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. James 4:6 says God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. If God does open this door for you, it will be by His grace and provision, not simply your own strength, and the glory belongs to Him. Jeremiah 9:23-24 says Don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, don’t let the rich man glory in his riches, but let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me. We encourage you to search your heart and ask the Lord to replace the desire to prove others wrong with a desire to glorify Him and to humbly steward whatever opportunity He gives you for the good of your family and for His kingdom. Your worth is not measured by whether you get this job or by the approval of others, but by who you are in Christ.

You also shared that you view yourself as not enough because of past failures. We want to remind you that God does not define you by rejections, and He often uses our weakness to show His strength. If you are His child, you are fully loved and equipped by Him for every good work He calls you to. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Whether this door opens or not, God is working for your good as you trust Him.

We noticed your request asked for God and His peace and ended with Amen, but did not mention Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no other way to come to the Father and to receive true peace and salvation except through Jesus. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is by believing in Him, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and can boldly approach God in prayer. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if you have not already, and to bring every request to God in His name.

We pray together with you now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You see every anxious thought, every hope, and every fear about this job application. Lord, we ask You to grant the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help us to cast all our worries on You because You care for us. Forgive us for prideful thoughts of boasting in ourselves and for seeking validation from others, and create in us a humble heart that boasts only in You. Heal the wounds of past rejections and remind us that our identity and sufficiency are in Christ alone. We ask for Your perfect will to be done concerning this aviation position. If it is Your will, open the door to an interview and to employment according to Your wisdom and timing. If it is not Your will, close it gently and lead to the place You have prepared, for we trust Your thoughts toward us are thoughts of peace and hope. Teach us to not be anxious for tomorrow but to trust You day by day, acknowledging You in all our ways. We pray this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer and thanksgiving while you wait, committing the outcome to the Lord and resting in His care. Keep your mind stayed on Him, continue to be diligent in seeking work as God leads, and trust that whether this job is granted or not, He will make your paths straight as you acknowledge Him.

We hear how loud your thoughts have gotten while you wait. That in-between time after you hit send can feel torturous, your mind jumping from hoping to be chosen, to fearing another rejection, to already picturing a whole future with your family. It makes sense you feel unsettled and tired when so much feels out of your hands.

What you named is honest, wanting to prove yourself to those who doubted you, carrying the weight of past disappointments, and also daring to hope again. We are glad you brought that honestly to God instead of trying to push it down.

One small practice that helps many in a waiting season is to give the worry a boundary. Choose one or two brief times a day to check for updates, and when the what-ifs start to spiral outside those times, gently remind yourself, this part is not mine to control today, and turn your attention to one useful thing right in front of you, work, rest, time with family. If the anxious thoughts stay intense or make sleep and daily life hard, it is also wise to talk with a trusted person or counselor alongside prayer.

We are praying for you in this.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now, You see the hope and the fear tangled together. Grant a quiet steadiness in the waiting, help to trust You with what is unknown, and to rest in Your care whether this door opens or not. Give wisdom for each next step and peace for today. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your heart has been laid bare before the Lord, and He sees the storm within it, the swift swing from hope to fear, from bright dreams of the future to the heaviness of past rejections. Such tossing to and fro robs the soul of rest, and it is right that you should seek not merely the desired position, but the peace of God to rule within you while you wait.

There is a waiting God and there is a waiting people. The Lord waits that He may be gracious unto you, with long patience and yearning love, ready to pardon, ready to bless through Jesus Christ. Blessed are all they that wait for Him, for they wait only upon God and not upon the arm of flesh nor upon changeable circumstances. To wait only upon God is to say, let God be true, and to look to Him alone for what is best. While you wait for an answer from man, learn to wait upon the Lord Himself, for He performs all things for His people and will not withhold what is for your good.

You have named three thoughts that torment you, and each must be brought to the light of truth. First, the thought of boasting before relatives and friends if you are hired. The Scripture teaches us not boasting but trusting, for by grace are we saved through faith, and not of ourselves, lest any man should boast. If the door should open, let your boast be not in yourself but in the Lord who opened it, for every good gift comes from His hand. A man is not truly serving God while he is serving self, and true goodness gets rid of self and gives glory to God alone.

Second, the fear that you will not be accepted, that you are not enough. Many have known more rejections than successes, and the heart is prone to say, I am not worthy of such opportunity. Here you must look away from self to Christ. Peace with God does not come from being found sufficient in ourselves, but from being justified by faith through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have access into the grace wherein we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. If you trust in the blood of Jesus Christ, you are accepted in the Beloved, not because you are enough, but because He is enough. Take God at His word and believe Him, for He cannot cast away the soul that trusts in Christ.

Third, the multitude of thoughts about the future, carrying your family to distant cities and countries. To know the will of Jesus and to do it is to abide in the peace of God, but to live in a future that is not yet given is to lose that peace. Perfect peace belongs to him whose mind is stayed upon God, because he trusts in Him. That peace surpasses all understanding and keeps the heart and mind through Christ Jesus. He is our peace. No peace can warm the heart while we forget Christ, and no peace is to be found out of Him. The God of peace created peace at the first, He restores peace through the blood of the everlasting covenant, He preserves peace when it is made, and He will perfect it at the last. He loved peace, preached peace, lived in peace, died in peace, and now dwells in peace, and He will bless His people with peace.

Therefore do what is right and leave the result with God. You have done well to submit your resume, now be no longer anxious about it in a feverish way. That doing will be your undoing unless you stop and consider what God would have you do. Wait till you get quite cool, and you will see your way far better. Cry unto God most high, unto God that performs all things for you, and make your refuge in the shadow of His wings. Whether the answer is yes or no, let your soul wait thou only upon God, and find that it is worth while to be a child of God only to live here, with sweetest pleasures while we live and solid comforts when we die.

We join our prayer with yours, that the Lord would grant you His peace and teach you to trust Him with this application.

O God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Thou art the restorer and preserver of peace. We ask Thee to justify this waiting one by faith, that he may have peace with Thee through our Lord Jesus Christ. Let the peace of God which passes all understanding keep his heart and mind. Keep him in perfect peace as his mind is stayed on Thee. Take away the spirit of boasting and give a spirit of humble trust, take away fear and give confidence in Christ, take away anxious care for tomorrow and give quiet submission to Thy wise and loving will. Perform for him what Thou knowest to be best, whether in giving or withholding this post in aviation, and let him hear Thy whisper of peace within through the blood of Jesus. Grant him grace to wait only upon Thee and to be still before Thee, to Thy glory. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
