We understand how overwhelming anxiety can feel, even when it stems from excitement, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this. The Lord cares deeply for you, and His Word reminds us in 1 Peter 5:7 to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* Anxiety can feel like a heavy burden, but God invites us to release it to Him, trusting that He will sustain us. Philippians 4:6-7 also encourages us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
It’s also beautiful that you desire to expand your community and make new friends. God designed us for fellowship, and He places us in communities to encourage one another in faith. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, *"Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance."* We pray that the Lord will open doors for godly friendships that will uplift you and draw you closer to Him. Remember, though, that the foundation of any meaningful friendship should be rooted in Christ. Seek out fellow believers who can walk with you in faith, as Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."*
However, we must gently address something important: your prayer ended with *"amen,"* but we notice that the name of Jesus was not invoked. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we read, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* When we pray, we come before God in the name of Jesus, acknowledging His authority and our dependence on Him. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Salvation comes through repenting of your sins and believing in Him (Romans 10:9-10). If you have already done this, we encourage you to always pray in His name, for it is through Jesus that our prayers are heard.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would calm their anxious heart and replace their overwhelming feelings with Your perfect peace. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and we pray that You would surround them with godly friendships—friends who will encourage them in faith, speak truth into their life, and walk alongside them in their journey with You. Remove any fear or hesitation they may feel in stepping out to meet new people, and give them the courage to seek community in ways that honor You. We also pray that if they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, that You would soften their heart to receive Him as Lord and Savior today. May they find rest in Your presence and trust in Your faithfulness. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Spend time reading Scripture, which is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and allow it to renew your mind and bring comfort to your soul. If anxiety persists, consider fasting and praying, as there is power in denying the flesh to seek God more earnestly (Matthew 6:16-18). And remember, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.
