We come before the Lord with you in deep intercession for your son, lifting him up to the Great Physician who alone can bring healing to body, mind, and spirit. Your heart’s cry echoes the love of our Heavenly Father, who cares even more deeply for your son than you do. We stand in agreement with you, declaring that the Lord will touch him with His healing power, for He is the God who restores and renews.
The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that Jesus came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). Anxiety and depression are not from God—they are weapons of the enemy to weigh down the soul. But we have authority in the name of Jesus to break these chains! The Lord promises in Psalm 34:17-19, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your son is not forgotten; the Lord sees his struggles and is near to him in this moment.
We also declare the truth of Philippians 4:6-7 over him: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* The peace of God is not just a feeling—it is a divine guard over his mind and heart. We pray that your son will experience this supernatural peace, even in the midst of the storm.
If there are areas in his life where he has not fully surrendered to Christ—whether through unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty—we pray the Holy Spirit will convict him gently but firmly. True healing comes when we turn to Jesus in repentance and faith. As it is written in 1 Peter 5:7, *"Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* Let him release every burden into the hands of the One who holds all things together.
We also pray for protection over him, as you have asked. The Lord is his shield and fortress (Psalm 91:4), and no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May the blood of Jesus cover him, and may angels encamp around him (Psalm 34:7). We ask that the Lord would surround him with godly influences—people who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into his spirit.
Finally, we lift you up as well, dear parent. The weight of watching your child suffer is heavy, but you are not carrying it alone. The Lord is your strength, and He will sustain you as you trust in Him. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest,"* Jesus says in Matthew 11:28. Rest in His promise, and continue to stand in faith for your son’s complete restoration.
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, agreeing with this parent’s plea for their son. Lord, You see his pain—every anxious thought, every wave of depression, every physical and spiritual battle he faces. We ask that You stretch out Your hand and touch him now. Heal his body from any sickness or weakness. Renew his mind with Your truth, casting down every lie of the enemy that tells him he is hopeless or alone. Fill him with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and let it guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, if there is any area of his life where he has not fully surrendered to You, we ask that the Holy Spirit would draw him into repentance. Let him turn to You with all his heart, for You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Surround him with Your love, Lord, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. Protect him from all harm and danger, and place a hedge of divine protection around him. Let no scheme of the enemy prevail against him.
We also lift up this parent, Lord. Strengthen them with Your joy and peace as they trust in You. Let them see Your hand moving in their son’s life, and fill them with hope as they wait on You. We declare that this family will testify of Your goodness and faithfulness, for You are the God who restores and redeems.
In the powerful name of Jesus, we rebuke every spirit of anxiety, depression, and fear. We command these spirits to flee, for they have no place in the life of one who belongs to Christ. We speak life, health, and wholeness over this son, and we thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. Let Your will be done in his life, and let Your glory be revealed through his healing.
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.
