Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your struggle with severe anxiety and hyperhidrosis and for allowing us to pray for you. These burdens touch both body and mind, and God cares about all of you.
We believe that God does heal and that healing is for today. The Scriptures show that Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses, as Matthew connects His healing ministry to the prophecy in Isaiah that He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. He went about teaching and preaching and healing every kind of sickness and disease, showing His power in the physical realm and His compassion for people who were suffering.
At the same time there is much about healing that we do not fully understand. In the ministry of Jesus we see different ways He healed. Sometimes it was instant, sometimes it was gradual, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with only a word, sometimes from a distance. There is no single pattern that confines Him. We also see that God has built healing processes into our bodies. That natural process is still divine, because He created nature and its processes. And often His healing touches the mind and emotions as well, bringing peace to wounds and scars that are not visible.
We do not presume that God wills physical healing in every case in this life, and we do not know why some are healed quickly while others continue to wait. The apostle Paul prayed three times about his own thorn in the flesh and the answer was not removal but grace to endure. Good people still suffer illness, and it does not mean God is punishing them or that they lack faith. It is wrong to say that ongoing sickness is a sign of sin or spiritual weakness, and we do not want to add that burden to you.
What we do know is that God is able, that He invites us to bring our needs to Him in faith, and that faith can be as simple as reaching out to Him and trusting that He can help. He never turned away those who came seeking help for their sickness.
So we will pray for you, asking for the Lord's healing touch on both the anxiety and the physical condition you described. We ask Him to bring calm to your mind and heart, to ease the distress that anxiety brings, and to bring healing to your body whether instantly, gradually, or through the natural processes and medical help He has provided. Above all we ask for His peace to guard you and for His presence to be very near to you.
Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear one to You. You know the weight of severe anxiety and the difficulty of hyperhidrosis. You have borne our infirmities and You understand our weaknesses. We ask You to bring healing according to Your will and Your wisdom. Touch body and mind, calm fear, and bring relief and strength. Let Your peace that passes understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Give wisdom to doctors and help to every means of care, and let Your grace be sufficient each day. We trust You and place this need in Your loving hands. Amen.
Please continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and continue to use wise medical care as part of the healing process God has ordained. We are standing with you in prayer.
