We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this moment of anxiety and fear. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." It is clear that God does not want us to be consumed by anxiety, but rather to bring our concerns to Him in prayer, trusting that He will provide peace that surpasses all understanding.
We sense that your anxiety may be tied to a deeper struggle—your dependence on your mother and the fear that controls you. While it is natural to love and honor our parents, we must also remember that our ultimate trust and dependence should be in God alone. Jesus said in Matthew 10:37, "He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me." This does not mean we should not love our parents, but that our love and devotion to Christ must come first. It is time to surrender your mother into God’s hands and trust Him to care for both of you.
Fear is not from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear is a tool the enemy uses to keep us from walking in the fullness of God’s purpose for our lives. We must rebuke fear in the name of Jesus and choose to walk in faith, trusting that God is with us and will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with anxiety and fear. Lord, You see their heart and know the burdens they carry. We ask that You would calm their spirit and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to release their grip on their mother and place her in Your loving hands, trusting that You will care for her. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken hold of them. We declare that they are a child of God, filled with power, love, and a sound mind. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You completely. Show them what You are trying to teach them in this season, and give them the courage to walk in obedience to Your will. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, meditating on scriptures that speak to His love, faithfulness, and power. Psalm 56:3 says, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you." Choose to trust God even when fear tries to creep in. Surrender your mother to Him in prayer, asking Him to help you love her in a way that honors Him while also trusting Him to be your ultimate source of security.
Remember, God is trying to show you something because He loves you and wants to draw you closer to Him. Ask Him to reveal His will to you and give you the strength to walk in it. You are not alone—God is with you, and so are we, standing in agreement with you for breakthrough and freedom from fear.
