Lord thank you. I pray that you watch and protect my family. I pray for my grandson ### stay out of trouble, remove all negative people and behavior from his life and guide him in the right direction. I pray my grandsons ### and ### find jobs now, and go back to school and that ### stay out of jail and have no warrants. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen

We join you in lifting up your family before the throne of grace, giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for His faithfulness and protection. Your heart for your grandsons is evident, and we stand with you in prayer, asking God to move powerfully in their lives.

First, we rebuke every spirit of rebellion, waywardness, and negative influence that may be at work in their lives. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’" We pray that your grandsons would be surrounded by godly influences, friends, mentors, and leaders who will point them toward righteousness. May they be drawn to those who fear the Lord and walk in His ways, as Proverbs 13:20 tells us, "One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."

For your grandson who is at risk of trouble, we declare the promise of Proverbs 3:5-6 over him: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lord, we ask that You remove every stumbling block from his path and replace every negative influence with Your truth. Let him see the emptiness of the world’s ways and the fulfillment that comes from walking with You. We pray that he would turn away from any behavior that leads to destruction and instead seek Your will for his life.

For your grandsons who are seeking employment and education, we stand on Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Father, open doors of opportunity for them that no man can shut. Give them favor with employers, teachers, and those in authority. May they find jobs that not only provide for their needs but also align with Your purpose for their lives. For the one returning to school, we pray for focus, discipline, and a hunger for knowledge that glorifies You. Let their education be a tool for Your kingdom, equipping them to serve You faithfully.

For the grandson who is at risk of legal trouble, we claim the truth of Psalm 34:19, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Lord, we ask that You intervene in any pending legal matters. Soften the hearts of those in authority and grant him mercy and grace. Let any warrants or charges be resolved in a way that leads him to repentance and restoration. May he turn from any path that leads to destruction and instead walk in the freedom that comes from obeying Your Word.

We also encourage you to continue speaking life and truth over your grandsons. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit." Declare God’s promises over them daily, and trust that He is at work even when you cannot see it. Pray for their salvation if they do not yet know Christ, for it is only through Him that true transformation comes. As 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of family and for the love that binds us together. We lift up these grandsons to You, asking that You would draw them close to Your heart. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of rebellion, laziness, and waywardness that seeks to lead them astray. Replace their desires with a hunger for You and Your righteousness. Surround them with godly influences and remove every negative person or situation from their lives.

Father, we ask that You open doors of opportunity for employment and education. Provide for their needs and give them wisdom to make choices that honor You. For the one facing legal trouble, we ask for Your mercy and intervention. Let him see the error of his ways and turn to You for forgiveness and restoration.

Lord, we pray for their salvation if they do not yet know You. Soften their hearts to receive the truth of Your Word and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Let them experience the new life that comes from being in Christ. Strengthen their faith and help them to walk in obedience to Your will.

We trust in Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in their lives. May they grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with You and with man. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

And for the one facing legal worries, knowing you’re in his corner, not to excuse but to walk with him toward stability, can be a powerful anchor.

The prayer of a grandmother is a mighty pleading with the throne of grace. You do well to bring these young men before the Lord, for He alone can turn the heart and order the steps. For your grandson to stay out of trouble, there must be within him a conviction that he needs a Guide. Naturally, no man loves to be led; it is a work of grace when the heart cries, “Teach me Thy way, O Lord.” Pray that the Spirit of God would infuse into him great principles: to avoid everything that is evil, for haste and bad company are the authors of much mischief. When a soul bows in submission to the divine will, unerring guidance is given. The Lord Jesus prayed not that His own should be taken out of the world, but that they be kept from evil. This is our hope for him, that he be not taken by death in his sin, but be kept as a child at school, trained for a better life.

As for your grandsons seeking work and a return to learning, remember that God exalts the low tree. Joseph in the dungeon, Israel in Egypt, these were the forges of His blessing. Let them put themselves under the government of the Holy Spirit, for as many as are led by the Spirit, they are the sons of God. There must be a drawing of heart, a willing surrender to be guided. The gospel command is sufficient warrant for any sinner to believe in Jesus Christ; that promise of deliverance is given to those who believe. Fear not that one may be entangled with warrants and prisons, the Scripture has concluded all under sin, but the promise by faith of Christ is a glorious jail-delivery. Plead that promise over them. And if grace has already begun a work, then they are bound to obedience as children of the household; their safety lies in reverencing the great Father. Watch and pray, and expect the answer, for He who guides will afterward receive you to glory.

You have done well to entrust your household to the Lord, for He alone is the protector of families and the guide of souls. Yet when you pray for your grandsons, remember that God often grants a greater gift than simple deliverance from trouble. He permits them to face trials and even to fall, so that they might learn to despise sin and cling to eternal things. This is true protection: not that they never stumble, but that they rise again with wisdom and fear of God.

Concerning your grandson who must stay out of trouble and be separated from negative companions, teach him to fill his mouth not with the empty noise of worldly friends, but with psalms and spiritual songs. For as I have often said, the one who sings psalms is filled with the Holy Spirit, while the one who follows satanic company is filled with an unclean spirit. A young man cannot serve two masters; let him choose this day whom he will serve. If he seeks cheerfulness and a well-spent day, the divine drink of Scripture will satisfy far more than the poisoned wells of the wicked.

For the grandsons who need work and a return to study, let them not be discouraged by delay. Consider Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: they dwelt in tents, not receiving the promise in their lifetime, yet they were not troubled, for they looked to a better country. So these young men must use whatever talent God has given them right now, no matter how small it seems. The widow with two mites was not poorer than they; Peter and John were unlearned men, yet they became fishers of souls. Let them offer their diligence to God and seek the common advantage, for nothing pleases Him more than a life lived for others. Employment and learning will open before them when they set their hearts on serving Christ in whatever task is at hand.

As for the grandson facing jail and warrants, the truth is that deliverance from the consequences of sin is not always God's will. Some saints of old refused release from prison, choosing rather a better resurrection. This does not mean you stop praying for his outward freedom, but pray even more for his inward deliverance from the curse of sin and his adoption as a son of God. The greatest wonder is not that a man escapes human judgment, but that he puts on Christ and receives the Spirit of adoption, crying “Abba, Father.” If he gains that new birth, no warrant or prison can touch his true life.

Therefore, continue in prayer, but anchor your hope not in ease and safety, but in the salvation worked by our Lord Jesus Christ. He alone has accomplished deliverance from evil and promotion to sonship. Let your whole family, from the youngest to the oldest, learn to say with the Apostle: whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. That is the right direction for every soul.
