Another Weekend Alone

ANOTHER WEEKEND ALONE

"Another weekend! What can I do? What should I do? I can't believe I am alone one more weekend! Everyone leaves work on Friday excited about having the weekend to have time to do their chores and then plan some exciting event. My spouse has the children this weekend, what am I to do? Housework, yard work, pay the bills, (why bother, I don't have enough money). Maybe I will just sleep all weekend!"

Well, I can relate to this statement. I am alone, but I have the Lord with me all the time. Bob has been gone for almost three years and this house has become very quiet and empty over the past few years.

Start talking to the Lord as if you had a very close friend visiting. You will be surprised, how it will deepen your relationship. You will be surprised at answers to prayers daily. You will feel as if your spouse was with you helping you make daily decisions. You start to develop and trust God knowing He is never going to leave you or forsake you. He has allowed all these things to go through His mighty hand, so we have a choice as to how we will receive them. We all need to grow in the Lord. We will be tested. Are you trusting Him or yourself and others?

Weekends are often very difficult. This weekend let's think about the ways the Lord has directed or shown you to stand. You may not be seeing any evidence that anything is happening, but decide this weekend to wait patiently for your miracle. Your God is always working. Ask Him for a new scripture or sign. He is your Father, He understands your feelings.

...But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:24-25

This weekend spend time with the Lord. Tell Him how you feel. Confess your fears, frustrations, and anxieties. He will meet you right where you are. Many people have to pay to get away alone. Thank the Lord for this special weekend alone with Him. Spend time worshiping and praising the Lord for who He is. Then spend time growing in the Lord by reading the Word and maybe a book that you have wanted to read. Listen to a teaching CD and then spend time just listening to the Lord. Turn off the TV, cell phone, social media, and let's grow in the Lord together this weekend.

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27

Do not be discouraged because of your circumstances. I know at times you feel like there is no hope. You have a choice; give up or believe in your Lord. Trust Him. He loves you so much. He parted the Red Sea at the right time, and He will change your circumstances at the right time.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

May this weekend be a very special one for you and the Lord. May the Lord meet you right where you are. He is your Savior, now let him be Lord of your life. He can be more than you ever could imagine if you will just spend time with Him. Try it!

Let's all pray in agreement for God to touch prodigals around the world to come to their senses. Pray that they will humble themselves to God and repent for all their mistakes they have made. Pray that they will repent and turn back to the Lord and to their families. Pray that will flee from their sexual immorality. Lord, we pray You will open their eyes and ears to listen to Your voice and Your escape route. God let there be a mighty harvest around the world for prodigals.

Believe and obey,

Heavenly Father, I believe you are the Holy One of Israel, a God of love and a God of might. Lord, I ask for the strength of your son Jesus to help me endure in love as adversaries of the principality of powers increase. I believe I have done all I can to reach estranged family members, those...
