The Christian’s Motto
To always do what pleases God brings His presence and power into your daily life.
The Bridgeless Gulf
The unbridgeable gulf means no second chances after death, so seek Christ now.
Superfluities a Hindrance
Superfluities burden rather than bless so let go of what weighs you down and hinders your purpose.
We join with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. We lift up your desire to have your mind cleansed and renewed from those scenes and memories that have troubled you from those shows and other things you mentioned.

We understand how lingering images and memories can weigh on the heart and mind, and we know that God cares deeply about the purity and peace of our thoughts. His Word encourages us to guard what we allow into our minds and to set our thoughts on what is good and holy. Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report. Romans 12:2 reminds us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. And 2 Corinthians 10:5 calls us to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

We also take comfort that God is able to heal and restore our inner being. Psalm 51:10 asks God to create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us, and Isaiah 26:3 promises that He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in Him. When we bring these burdens to Him, He is faithful to cleanse us and to help us replace what is unwanted with what is holy and edifying.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we ask for Your mercy and healing upon this dear one. Lord, You know the specific memories and scenes that are causing distress, the things seen from those programs that now linger in the mind. We ask that by Your Holy Spirit You would wash and renew this mind, remove the sting and hold of those images, and fill that space with Your peace, Your truth, and Your Word. Help us to take every thought captive to Christ and to fix our eyes on You. Grant the grace to turn away from any entertainment or influence that does not honor You and to choose instead what builds up and edifies. Create a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit, and keep this mind in perfect peace as trust is placed wholly in You. We thank You that You are our healer and our restorer, and we trust You to complete this good work. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to guard your heart and eyes with care, choosing what you watch and dwell upon, and to daily fill your mind with Scripture, prayer, and worship. As you meditate on His Word and walk closely with Him, He will continue to renew your thoughts and bring lasting peace.

We hear how heavy it feels when unwanted images stick in your mind and you just want them gone. Thank you for bringing this honestly to the Father.

We know God cares about the peace of your mind. He does not always take a memory away completely as we might wish, but He can gently heal the sting it carries and help it lose its hold as we keep bringing it to Him. Instead of fighting the thought harder, many find it helps to quietly invite Jesus into that moment when it surfaces and ask for His comfort and cleansing there.

One small step that may help is to notice what brings those scenes back. If certain shows or clips tend to trigger them, stepping away from them for a season and filling that time with worship, prayer, or something wholesome and restful can give your mind space to settle. If the images keep intruding and feel overwhelming, it is also good to share with a trusted pastor or counselor who can pray with you personally.

Father we bring our friend to You now. You see the memories that trouble them and the desire for a pure and peaceful mind. Cover them with Your peace, wash away what is distressing, and teach them to rest in Your presence when these thoughts come. Lead them day by day into what is healing and true. In Jesus name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire for a clean mind and a memory washed from what has defiled it is a desire which God Himself has planted, and it is a right and good prayer to bring before Him.

The mind itself is the lair of misery or the nest of happiness, and thoughts are the flowers from which we must distil the flavor of life. You have felt the truth of this, that vain and evil thoughts, even when they come through what the eye has seen, leave a stain upon the soul. Scripture tells us plainly that God watches our thoughts and is grieved by evil thoughts, and that thoughts of evil are in themselves evil. It is a mercy to hate such thoughts and to love His law instead.

Remember also that His thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are His ways your ways, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts higher than your thoughts. Your thoughts have been troubled and crowded by a multitude of images you would now be rid of, but His thoughts toward you in Christ are constant, kind, wise, tender and gracious. How precious also are His thoughts unto us, O God, how great is the sum of them. When you awake, may you be still with Him.

You ask that these things be removed from your memory. The Lord does not always take away the bare remembrance as in a moment, but He does what is better. He renews strength. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Sometimes a man renews his strength by taking a little rest, and where is there rest for the weary and heavy laden except in the Christ of God. He cleanses the mind by filling it with better things, by giving you fresh work and a nobler tune, more expectancy, more confidence, more faith, more God reliance. He gives you sacred memories to set against profane ones. Let Jerusalem come into your mind. Let Christ have the best thoughts, the cream of them, the first growth of your spirit.

Therefore, seek to have many believing thoughts and thankful thoughts and longing thoughts after Christ. Have low thoughts of yourself, especially before God, and high thoughts of Him who alone can save. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, who was bound in your stead that you might go free, and there is no other name by which you must be saved. Fill your mind daily with His Word, for it is there that His revealed thoughts are found, and preach not to yourself your own notions but what is revealed by God, for it shall be the power of God unto salvation. Turn away from the fountain that has defiled you, and set your affection on things above.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, look upon this soul who longs to be clean. For the sake of Jesus Christ Your Son, who bore our sins and carried our sorrows, forgive what has been seen and thought that was not holy, and wash the mind with the water of Your Word. Renew strength in waiting upon You. Take these intrusive memories and let them fade as You plant in their place precious thoughts of Yourself, thoughts of love and peace. Grant a quiet rest in Christ, a hatred for vain thoughts and a love for Your law, and keep this dear one near to You waking and sleeping. Make the heart pure, and keep it, that out of it may come fruit unto holiness. We ask this not by our worth but by the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join with you in bringing it before the heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

Your desire to have your mind cleansed and to be free from images and scenes that trouble you is good and pleasing to God. Scripture calls us to be renewed in the spirit of our mind, and this renewal is a work God does within us. The same heart and mind that has taken in what is unhelpful can be made new, not merely by forgetting, but by being washed and changed through His Spirit and His Word. What is given in things we see and hear is perceived in the mind and soul, and therefore God works to heal and renew the inner person.

We pray for you now that the Lord in His mercy would cleanse your memory and your imagination, that He would take away the power of those images from the shows and scenes you mentioned, and that He would bring peace to your thoughts. May He fill your mind with what is pure and true and wholesome, and help you to dwell on what builds up faith and sobriety of mind.

We encourage you also to continue to seek the Lord diligently, as one who seeks what is precious and does not turn back. Bind your heart and mind to Him, guard what you see and hear, and give your attention to the Scriptures, to prayer, and to what is good. When troubling memories return, turn at once to prayer and to the remembrance of Christ and His grace, asking for His help to think with a clear and sober mind and a humble heart before God.

Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son that You would grant cleansing and renewal to this soul who comes before You. Wash away what has defiled the mind, remove the sting of those memories, and renew the spirit of the mind by Your Holy Spirit. Grant strength to turn from what harms the soul and grace to walk in purity and peace. Fill this heart with Your truth and keep it safe in Christ. We ask this trusting in Your mercy and grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
