An Assuredly Good Thing
Drawing near to God brings peace and strength in every trial.
Life Insurance a Duty
Providing for your family after death is a moral duty that demands immediate action from those who can afford it.
On Trial
Every believer stands accused yet finds a divine defender who secures their acquittal if they trust him.
We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you in bringing this burden before our heavenly Father in Jesus' name. We understand the desire to have painful memories and names erased, to find relief from thoughts that keep returning and cause distress. While we ask God for relief, we also remember that His way is not always to erase our memory, but to heal our hearts and renew our minds so that what once caused pain no longer holds power over us.

The Lord knows your thoughts and your hurts intimately. He promises in Psalm 147:3 that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. He does not simply remove the past, He redeems it and brings peace in the midst of it. We are called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ as it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to let our minds be transformed as in Romans 12:2, so that we are renewed day by day.

We are encouraged in Isaiah 43:18-19 not to remember the former things, nor consider the things of old, behold, I will do a new thing, and in Philippians 3:13-14 to forget what lies behind and strain toward what lies ahead, pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. This forgetting is not amnesia, but a releasing of the sting and the hold of the past, choosing to forgive, to let go, and to fill our minds with what is true and healing as described in Philippians 4:8. And as we bring our requests to God, Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us not to be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find healing and salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved as Acts 4:12 teaches, and Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the memories that cause pain and the names that linger in the mind. We ask that You touch this heart with Your healing hand. Take away the ache and the torment connected with these memories, and replace it with Your perfect peace. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, to release any bitterness or hurt, and to take every thought captive to Your truth. Renew this mind, Lord, wash it with Your Word, and fill it with thoughts that are pure, lovely, and of good report. Help us to forget what is behind in the sense of letting go, and to press forward into the new thing You are doing. Guard this heart and mind with Your peace that passes all understanding. We trust You to bring wholeness and rest, and to make these memories lose their power, so that we may walk in freedom and joy in Christ. We ask this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring these thoughts to the Lord whenever they arise, to speak His Word over your mind, and to fill your days with Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. As God heals you, the memories may remain but their painful grip will fade, and He will give you strength to look forward with hope. We are standing with you for that complete healing and peace.

We hear how weary you must feel wanting these memories and names to be gone, and how sincerely you are bringing that ache to the Father. It makes sense to ask Him for relief when thoughts keep returning and feel heavy to carry.

We have found that God often works not by erasing our past as if it never happened, but by gently healing how those memories live in us. Over time He can soften the sting, quiet the replaying of thoughts, and help the memory hold less power, even if we still remember parts of the story. That healing is usually a process more than a single moment.

One small step that helps many people is to have a simple plan for when a name or memory surfaces. You might pause and quietly hand that moment to Jesus in a short prayer, like telling Him, I give this thought to you again, and then turn your attention to what is present and good right in front of you. If these memories feel intrusive or very distressing, it can also help to share them regularly with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor who can listen and pray with you over time.

You are not alone in this, and God sees the honest way you are seeking Him for peace.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You know each person and memory weighing on their heart. Please bring Your comfort and healing, calm what hurts, and fill their mind with Your peace. Help them sense Your nearness when memories return and lead them to supportive people to walk alongside them. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for relief from painful memories has been heard and brought before the Lord with care and compassion. It is a heavy burden to carry names and faces in the mind that bring sorrow, and the Lord knows the pain of a wounded heart.

Scripture tells us that He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and that the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The Lord Jesus Christ is the great Physician, and His power to heal reaches to the deepest sickness of the soul. He does not always take away the memory itself as if it had never been, but He is able to heal the wound that the memory carries, to change the life blood and make the nature new, and to give that peace of God which passes all understanding to keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

We pray that instead of a troubled and restless remembering, He would grant you a renewed mind and a quieted spirit. May He lift the sting from these recollections, forgive what needs forgiving, cleanse what needs cleansing, and cause you to dwell in His presence where there is healing in His wings. When the thoughts return, may you be enabled to bring them captive to Christ and to rest in His pardoning and healing hand.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, who is the only way to Your throne of grace. You see this dear one who is wearied by memories that cause pain. Lord, lay Your healing hand upon this broken heart. Wash away sin by the blood of Christ, and grant forgiveness and healing together as You have promised. Renew the mind, quiet the thoughts, and let the healing virtue of Christ, even as the leaves of the tree, bring freshness and peace. Grant grace to forgive as You have forgiven, to release what must be released, and to walk in newness of life. Give a calm and settled heart, that this soul may go in peace, attending to the duties of this life with a spirit at rest in You. Keep this heart in Your perfect peace, and let Christ be magnified in every thought. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and I understand the deep pain that makes you want to forget and not remember these people and their names. The desire to be free from painful memories is very human, and God sees the hurt that has led you to ask this.

In Scripture, when God speaks of forgetting, it is not that He erases our minds as if nothing happened. As the Psalm says, forget your people and your father's house, so the King will desire your beauty. That forgetting is a turning away from what once held us, from sin and idols and old wounds, so that our soul can be made beautiful again by looking to Christ. God does not always take away the memory itself, but He can take away its sting and its power over you, and heal the soul that remembers.

Healing of this kind is often like a painful remedy. The pain you feel now is real and sharp, but it is for a season, while the profit that God can bring through healing is lasting. Just as a physician must sometimes apply a bitter medicine before there is comfort, so God works patiently over time to restore us. Even if you have prayed many times and still remember, do not lose hope. Often fruit comes not from one prayer alone but from many prayers and much grace working quietly at the root, until one day you find that what once wounded you no longer controls you.

So instead of asking God to simply remove your memory, we can ask Him to heal your memory, to give you peace where there is turmoil, and to help you remember without being chained to sorrow or bitterness.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, you know this heart and the memories that cause pain. You know each person and each name that weighs heavy here. I ask not for a mere erasing of the mind, but for your healing upon this soul. Wash away bitterness, calm troubled thoughts, and grant peace that passes understanding. Teach this dear one to cast every care on you, to forgive as you have forgiven, and to find beauty and rest in you alone. Through Jesus Christ your Son, who alone is our salvation and hope, bring wholeness, strength to move forward, and a heart set on you. In Jesus Christ's name, amen.

If these memories continue to burden you, please seek the care of a trusted pastor or wise Christian counselor who can walk with you personally and pray with you over time. God is near to the brokenhearted and He will not abandon you as you seek Him.
