Personal Consecration: “Quit Your Meanness.”
True joy comes from a life of integrity and repentance, so quit the habits that dishonor God and others.
An Obnoxious Diet
God calls you to reject spiritual decay and embrace a life of purpose and action.
Preaching for the Poor
The gospel reaches the poor with life-changing power and calls them to faith.
We hear your heart in this request and we join with you in bringing it before the Father in Jesus' name. We understand the desire to have a name and the memories attached to it taken away, often because that name brings pain, sorrow, or temptation, and we thank you that you have come to God through Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

Jesus said in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ.

We want to gently share what Scripture teaches about memory and healing. God does not always remove our memories, but He does promise to heal our hearts and to bring peace to our minds when we surrender our thoughts to Him. We read in Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And in Psalm 34:18, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Rather than asking only for forgetfulness, we encourage you to ask for healing, for peace, and for your thoughts to be made captive to Christ. In 2 Corinthians 10:5 we are taught to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. In Philippians 4:6-7 we are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. God can take a painful memory and redeem it so that it no longer has power over you, even if the memory itself remains.

The Lord also calls us to look forward to what He is doing anew in our lives. Isaiah 43:18-19 says, Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. This is not a command to erase our past by our own will, but an invitation to trust that God is making a new way forward.

If this name is tied to a past relationship, to hurt, or to someone you need to forgive, we encourage you to bring that pain and any unforgiveness to the Lord as well. Ephesians 4:32 says, And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness does not mean the hurt was not real, but it releases you to walk in freedom and allows God to heal you fully.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the name that weighs on their heart and mind, and You know the pain or burden connected to it. We ask that You would heal the broken places, bind up every wound, and guard their heart and thoughts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and to dwell not on what brings pain, but on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, and lovely. Where there is need for forgiveness, grant grace to forgive as You have forgiven us. Where there is sorrow, bring comfort. Where there is lingering attachment, bring holy release and wholeness. Do a new thing in their life, make a way in the wilderness, and let their mind be renewed according to Your will. Let the memory lose its sting, and let Your love and presence fill that space instead. We trust Your perfect will and Your tender mercy. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you as said in 1 Peter 5:7, and to allow Him to transform you by the renewing of your mind as described in Romans 12:2. He is faithful to complete the healing He has begun in you.

We understand why you prayed this. Carrying a name that brings pain is exhausting, and wanting it gone makes sense. We are praying with you for peace that lasts longer than just trying not to remember.

In our experience God rarely answers by erasing a memory the way we might hope. More often He loosens the sting attached to it. There is a difference between deciding to release someone before God and the slower work of the heart catching up, where resentment and hurt gradually lose their grip as we keep turning the matter over to Him. That second part takes time and often happens little by little, not all at once.

One small practice that helps many people when that name comes to mind is to quietly hand it back to God in that moment rather than fighting the thought. A simple, "Father, I give this person and this memory to You again" and then gently turning your attention to what is in front of you can keep rumination from taking hold. If you notice the thoughts are frequent or heavy, it can also help to share with a trusted pastor or counselor who can walk with you.

Father, we bring our friend to You and ask for Your gentle healing in this tender place. Quiet the ache when this name surfaces and fill that space with Your peace and presence. Teach us to release what we cannot carry and to rest in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your earnest and brief prayer has been heard and carried before the throne of grace, and we have joined our supplication to yours in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

There are wounds of the heart which are more painful than wounds of the body, and a name may become as a thorn in the memory, stirring sorrow whenever it is recalled. The Scripture tells us, He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and again, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Not only the fruit of Christ is healing, but the very leaves, the least things about Him, have virtue to restore the soul. What you need, and what we have asked the Lord to give you, is not merely that a name should be blotted from the mind as writing from a slate, but that the sting should be taken from the memory and the heart made whole by His pardoning and healing hand.

Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction in the gospel. When the soul is brought to Christ, pardon and healing come together. If there has been sin in the association which makes this memory so burdensome, confess it plainly to Him who is faithful and just to forgive. If there has been disappointment and grief, carry that grief also to the same Physician, for He is able to reach the utmost length of human sickness and sorrow. None can say to the flood of His love, hitherto shalt thou come and no further.

We have prayed that the Lord would grant you that peace which passes all understanding, that you may go in peace. As our Saviour said to the one who had been forgiven much, Your faith has saved you, go in peace, so may you know that word spoken to your own spirit. May He so fill your thoughts with Himself, with His Word and His presence, that this name, and all the pain that clings to it, shall lose its power to trouble you. He can so change the life blood of the soul and make the nature other than it was before, that what once wounded shall heal, and what once held you captive shall be remembered without bitterness, or be set aside by a mind stayed upon Christ.

Therefore we commend you to Him with this prayer. O Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name alone is salvation, look upon this afflicted one who desires deliverance from a tormenting remembrance. Forgive all sin, wash the conscience clean in Thy blood, and heal the broken heart. Let the healing leaves of Thy grace be laid upon this wound. Grant quietness of mind, purity of thought, and a heart at rest in Thee, that going forward in Thy service and in the duties of this present life, this dear soul may indeed go in peace, to Thy glory. Amen.

We exhort you to keep close to Christ in prayer, in the reading of His Word, and in the fellowship of His people, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, and it is when Christ is teaching us that His healing power is most present.
