Winnowing Time
God values true faith and condemns all hypocrisy, urging you to examine your heart for genuine devotion.
Off for Nazareth
Christ walked the hardest roads so we must endure our own struggles with faith and perseverance.
Love’s Commendation
God’s love is proven by Christ dying for us while we were still sinners, showing we are saved by grace alone.
We join with you in this prayer and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we have victory.

We hear your struggle with your eyes and with intrusive sights and sounds, and we want to encourage you that God desires to give you a pure and peaceful mind. Your desire not to stare at others, even from the corner of your eye, is honoring to God. We are called to make a covenant with our eyes as Job said, I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I look at a virgin? Job 31:1 and to guard what we set before our eyes, I will set no vile thing before my eyes. Psalm 101:3. Jesus teaches us how serious this is for purity of heart. When we feel tempted to look in a way that is lustful or intrusive, we must quickly turn our gaze and our thoughts to Christ.

We also hear your distress about music that will not leave your mind and the image of two people that troubles you, and what you describe as demonic things. We want to remind you that the enemy seeks to harass our minds, but greater is He who is in us. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. We do not have to be captive to these intrusive thoughts and sounds, for we are told to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5.

We encourage you to actively resist these things and to fill your mind with what is holy. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2. Whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8. When a worldly song or an unwanted image comes, we can choose to replace it immediately with scripture, with a hymn to the Lord, or with prayer. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, we ask You to grant power over the eyes and over every intrusive thought. Give a renewed mind and a clean heart. We ask that You remove permanently the unwanted image of two people that haunts this mind, and that You silence every lingering sound of music and every demonic harassment. Wash this mind with Your peace and with Your Word. Help our dear friend to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to fix their eyes on You. Fill this mind with Your truth, Your purity, and Your songs. Let Your Holy Spirit reign where there has been torment, and let Your perfect peace guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We claim victory through the blood of Jesus and we ask for lasting freedom and self-control. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

We hear how wearying this has been for you, wanting to be free from staring from the corner of your eye, from music sounds that keep playing in your mind, and from an image of two people that you want gone. It makes sense you would bring this so directly to the Father.

Sometimes when an image or sound feels intrusive, trying very hard to push it away can make it stick more. It can help to practice a gentle redirect instead of a hard fight. When you notice the urge to stare or the image or sound comes, you might quietly turn your eyes to what is in front of you, continue with the simple task at hand, and offer a brief prayer in your own words asking for peace. Over time that steady, patient practice can ease some of the pressure you feel.

If these experiences keep weighing on you, it can also help to talk with a trusted pastor or counselor, and with a medical professional alongside prayer, so you have support in person.

We are praying for you and will keep praying.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus' name. You see the distress and the desire for a quiet mind and steady eyes. Grant rest, clarity, and a sense of Your nearness and protection today. Lead step by step and give wisdom to know the next right thing to do. Amen.

There is mercy with the Lord who has heard your prayer, and whose eyes have always rested upon you and are resting upon you now. He knows all about you, He reads your most secret thoughts and your unspoken words are all known to Him, and His thoughts concerning you are constant, kind, wise, tender and gracious.

You have asked for help that your eyes may not wander, and the wise man gives you counsel straight from the Word of God, Let your eyes look right on and let your eyelids look straight before you. They need to be watched in their outgoings, lest the glances of the eye should be full of iniquity, or should suggest foolish thoughts. Your prayer is right and good, to ask the Holy Spirit to bring you to that oneness of trust which makes both eyes meet at their proper focus and let that focus be the Lord Jesus. When the eyes are fixed upon Christ, you can walk steadily, looking to Him and not to other things that would distract or defile.

You speak also of sounds and images that haunt you, and of demonic things that trouble your mind. Remember that the Lord is your deliverance. As with Israel of old, He brings His people forth, and He makes their deliverance effectual. He has found a ransom, for His own Son has borne the penalty of iniquity, and deliverance comes when the Lamb was slain. He can insinuate no dark thought that the blood of Christ cannot answer, and He can haunt you with no image that the power of Christ cannot remove. Faith is to a man like new eyes, eyes with a far wider range of vision than natural eyes ever have, eyes which see the truths of God. Unless God opens your eyes, you must still abide in darkness, but God opened Hagar's eyes and she saw a well of water that was there before, and He will open your eyes to see Christ present with you.

Therefore I will pray with you and for you.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation and our ransom, look upon this soul who desires purity and peace. Grant grace to keep the eyes looking right on, and the eyelids straight before You, turning away from every wandering glance. Cleanse the mind and heart, remove every intrusive sound and every haunting image of which this dear one has spoken, and let them be taken away permanently by Your power. Let Your precious thoughts fill the mind where troubled thoughts have been, so that when this child awakes, he may still be with You. Open the eyes to see the well of living water which is Christ, and give deliverance from the pit by the blood of the Lamb. Keep this one near to Yourself, unspotted from the world, and give quietness and holiness of thought. In Jesus Christ's name we ask it, Amen.

Seek to fill your mind with the Word of God and with prayer through the day, and when a wandering glance or a troubling image or sound would intrude, turn at once to look straight upon Christ by faith. He who has begun a good work will be faithful to keep you, for His ways and His thoughts are higher than yours, and His thoughts toward you are precious.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before the heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

We understand the burden you carry, the desire to keep your eyes pure, to have your mind freed from unwanted sounds and images, and to be delivered from every demonic influence. God sees this struggle and He is faithful to help those who call on Him with a sincere heart.

Scripture teaches us to guard what we allow through our eyes and ears, and to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. The Lord does not leave us to fight alone, but gives His Holy Spirit to strengthen us, to cleanse our conscience, and to renew our minds. When intrusive images or sounds come, turn immediately to Him in prayer, look away, and fill your mind with what is true and pure and holy from His Word.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your throne of grace. We ask You to grant our brother or sister strength to turn the eyes away from what is not helpful and to walk in purity and self control. Wash the mind and heart and cleanse every unwanted image that has taken hold, and remove it completely. Silence every sound and influence that does not come from You, and deliver from every demonic work by the power of the cross and resurrection of Jesus. Fill this heart instead with Your peace, with holy thoughts, with psalms and Scripture and the remembrance of Your goodness. Guard this life and make it steadfast in You. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily through prayer and reading His Word. Memorize verses that speak of purity and protection, such as Psalm 101:3, Psalm 119:37, Philippians 4:8 and James 4:7, and speak them aloud when temptation or intrusive thoughts come. Turn quickly from what tempts the eyes, and set your attention on Christ. Fill your ears with worship and truth rather than leaving them empty. Walk closely with other faithful believers who can encourage you and pray with you and hold you accountable, and share this burden with a trusted pastor so you are not carrying it alone.

God is merciful and He delights to make clean those who come to Him humbly. Keep drawing near to Him, and He will draw near to you and give you victory and rest.
