We join with you in this prayer and we bring your request before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name. We understand how a song, a lyric, or the memory of an artist can linger in the mind and become a distraction or even a burden, and we thank you for bringing this to the Lord seeking His cleansing and peace.
Scripture teaches us that God desires to renew our minds and to help us take every thought captive. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 10:5 we are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and in Romans 12:2 we are told not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well pleasing, and perfect will of God. We are also called to guard what we dwell upon, for Philippians 4:8 says Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
We encourage you to not only ask God to remove what troubles you, but to actively fill that space with what honors Him. When an unwanted lyric or sound returns, turn immediately to worship, to hymns and spiritual songs as Ephesians 5:19 encourages, and to the Word of God hidden in your heart as Psalm 119:11 says. God promises in Psalm 51:10 to create in us a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within us when we ask Him.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the artist and the lyric and the sounds that are lingering in memory and causing distress. We ask in Jesus' name that You would wash this mind clean by Your power and by Your Holy Spirit. Remove what does not honor You and take away the replaying of these sounds. Help our dear one to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to be transformed by the renewing of the mind. Fill this mind instead with Your truth, Your peace, and songs that glorify You. Let Your Word dwell richly within, and grant quietness and rest where there has been repetition and unrest. We thank You that You are faithful to create a clean heart and to give us power over what we dwell upon. Keep this mind stayed on You, for You keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Your prayer has been brought before the Lord and we join with you in asking Him for cleansing and renewal of the mind in Jesus Christ.
We understand how a song can fasten itself upon the thoughts and become a burden, and how you long to be free from it. The heart that loves Christ desires that no vain thought should lodge there, but that His thoughts should dwell in us richly. As the Scripture says, How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O God, how great is the sum of them, and again, My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
There are thoughts that drag us down, and we need renewing because sin that dwells in us would hold us fast. Yet the Lord who knew you from everlasting has had thoughts of love toward you, constant and tender and gracious, and He is able to keep your heart and mind by Jesus Christ. The peace of God which passes all understanding can guard you, and the blood of Christ can cleanse from all sin, even the stains that cling to memory.
We pray with you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask You to show mercy to this soul who desires purity of mind. Wash away what troubles and distracts, remove the sound and lyric that lingers, and take away the remembrance of that which does not edify. Forgive all sin and cleanse the conscience through the blood of the Lamb. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, think upon whatsoever things are true and pure and lovely, and let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Turn away from the occasion of the temptation, and ask the Lord to set your harp in tune again, that your mind may not hang upon the willows but may sing unto Him who has redeemed you from death and hell.

Your prayer has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is good that you have brought the distress of your mind into the light before God, for He alone knows the heart and fashions it, and He sees the secret thoughts within us. When the mind is made turbid by what we have seen and heard, it can mistake and hold fast to images and sounds that trouble us, like a disordered eye that cannot see clearly. You have asked rightly that God would cleanse your memory and give you peace.
I pray with you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, wash and renew this mind. Remove what clings to memory that does not profit the soul, the sound and lyric that returns unbidden, and set this heart at rest. Grant power to fix thoughts on what is true and pure and worthy, and let Your word dwell richly within. Guard this one by Your grace and keep the heart in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Read the Scriptures daily, memorize verses that speak of God's mercy and holiness, and let prayer be frequent through the day. As it is written, be transformed by the renewal of your mind, and whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is pure, think about these things.
God is not distant from this struggle. He knows it is not by pomp of words but by a strong mind grounded in His truth that we stand.
