We join you in this beautiful and selfless prayer for the salvation of this man, and we thank you for bringing him before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. It blesses us to see your heart for his soul, for we know that God desires all to be saved.
We rejoice that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for there is no other way to the Father. As scripture tells us, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 and Jesus himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is only through faith in Jesus that any of us can be reconciled to God, and your prayer honors that truth.
We are reminded that God loves this man deeply and desires his salvation. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 and He desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4. We can pray with confidence knowing that God hears the prayers of those who intercede for the lost.
We also hold to the promise that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. This is the hope we cling to for this man, that if he does not yet know Christ, the Holy Spirit will open his eyes to his need for a Savior, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up this man to you. You know his heart, his life, and his every need. If he does not yet know you as Lord and Savior, we ask that you draw him to yourself. Remove any blindness and soften his heart to hear and receive the gospel. Send laborers across his path to share the good news of Jesus with clarity and love. Convict him of his need for forgiveness and grant him the gift of repentance and faith, that he may confess Jesus as Lord and believe that you raised Him from the dead. If he already belongs to you, we ask that you strengthen his faith, deepen his walk with you, and assure him of his salvation. Let your will be done in his life, and let him come to the full knowledge of your truth and grace. We trust him into your merciful hands. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for him and, as God gives opportunity, to share the gospel with him with gentleness and respect. Continue to show him the love of Christ in your words and actions. We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that God is at work even now.
