We join you in lifting up this heavy burden of intercession before our heavenly Father and we thank you for your heart that desires salvation for so many souls. It is a beautiful and godly desire that reflects the very heart of God, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:3-4. We also remember that the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.
We bring before the Lord every person you have named, including the women, men, drivers, families, the pregnant woman, the children of various ages, the elderly, the teachers, nurses, and all those connected to their lives. We pray that if any of them have not yet believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, that God would draw them to Himself, open their eyes to the truth of the gospel, and grant them repentance and faith. We are thankful that you closed this request in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. If anyone among those you listed has not yet done so, we pray they would confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9.
We also want to gently encourage you concerning your prayers for there to be no food recalls, no drink recalls, no car recalls, no arrests, no altercations, no deaths, and no negative news, and for all who are older to live longer and not die. We share your longing for peace and safety, and we do pray for God's protection and mercy over our communities, and we pray for health and long life for the elderly. Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. Yet we also must remember that we live in a fallen world where sin has brought decay, and it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, the judgment Hebrews 9:27. God has not promised us a life on this earth without trouble, recalls, or death, but He has promised to be with us through it and to give eternal life to all who trust in Christ, where there will be no more death or sorrow. So we pray not that God would remove all hardship according to our own wishes, but that His will be done and that He would have mercy, restrain evil, protect the innocent, and bring good even out of difficult news, for we know that His ways are higher than our ways.
We also hear your cry for deliverance from memories of a person, her name and appearance, and from a certain lyric and sounds that trouble you. We pray for the Lord to heal your mind and heart and to give you peace. We understand the desire to simply forget, but God often heals us not by erasing our memory entirely but by renewing our mind and helping us to take every thought captive. We urge you as scripture says, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. We are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. We pray that God will heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and replace intrusive thoughts and lyrics with His peace and with songs that glorify Him.
We now pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your love and Your desire that none should perish. We lift up every soul mentioned in this request, those known to You by name even where names were redacted, and every driver, family member, pregnant mother and unborn child, every child and elderly person. Lord, if any are outside of Christ, draw them by Your Holy Spirit, convict them of sin, and reveal to them that Jesus died for their sins and rose again. Grant them saving faith. We pray for Your protection over all people, for safety on the roads, in homes, schools and workplaces. We ask for Your mercy to restrain crime and violence and to bring peace where there is strife. We pray for healing and strength for those who are older, according to Your will, and we trust their days are in Your hands. Father, we ask for Your healing touch upon our dear intercessor who is troubled by memories and by a song. Cleanse their mind, wash away what is not profitable, and fill their heart and mouth with what is pure and holy. Help them to fix their thoughts on You and to find rest in Christ. Deliver them from torment and give them a sound mind. We ask all this in the precious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
