We join with you in this prayer before our heavenly Father and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

We hear your heart's cry to have something removed from your memory and to learn not to put your trust in others. The Lord understands the pain that memories can bring and the disappointment that comes when trust in people is broken. We know that God does not promise to erase our past like it never happened, but He does promise to heal our hearts, to renew our minds, and to give us peace as we bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ as taught in 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Your desire to not put your trust in others aligns with the wisdom of Scripture. We are taught in Jeremiah 17:5, Thus says Yahweh: Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh. And in Jeremiah 17:7, Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence is in Yahweh. It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man as Psalm 118:8 tells us. People, even well meaning people, will fail us, but God never will. We are called to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We also want to encourage you that God can heal the wound that this memory has left. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 He invites us to cast our cares upon Him. In Philippians 4:6-7 we are reminded, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. As you keep your mind steadfast on Him, He will keep you in perfect peace, because you trust in Him. Isaiah 26:3

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You see the memory that burdens this heart and the pain it has caused. We ask that You would heal and cleanse this mind, that You would take away the sting of this memory and replace it with Your peace. Help us to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and to think on whatever things are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report as You teach us in Philippians 4:8. Father, teach us to place our complete trust not in man, but in You alone, for You are faithful and Your love never fails. Guard this heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Restore joy and help this one to walk in freedom, trusting You with all the heart and acknowledging You in all ways. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our only hope. Amen.

We hear your honest prayer and we are joining you in it before the Father.

Wanting a painful memory lifted and wanting to guard your heart from trusting people again makes sense, especially when you have been hurt. It is a tender place to bring to the Lord, and He sees exactly what you are carrying.

We have walked with others who asked God to erase a memory, and what we often see is not that He wipes it away like it never happened, but that He meets us inside it and gently changes the pain it holds over us. Learning to put our deepest trust in Him does not mean we have to live closed off from everyone, but it does free us to relate to others with more wisdom and less fear, one step at a time.

When that memory comes up, it can help to pause and quietly invite Jesus to be present with you right there in that moment. If it feels heavy to do alone, consider asking one safe, mature believer or pastor you trust to pray with you and simply listen, so you are not carrying it by yourself.

Father, we bring our friend to You and thank You that You know this memory and this hurt fully. We ask You to bring Your peace and healing into that place, to teach us day by day what it means to trust You above all, and to give wisdom for how to relate to others. Hold us close and lead us forward in Your love. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer comes before the Lord with an honesty that He loves to hear, for you have declared your ways before Him and asked Him to teach you and to heal you. There is wisdom in what you ask, to be weaned from putting your trust in others and to set it wholly upon God.

The Scripture warns us and comforts us at once, cursed is the man that trusteth in man, but blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. Deliverance is of God alone, salvation is of the Lord, and preservation is of the Lord alone. If we put our confidence in anything besides Him, even linking hand in hand with God something else, we sin against His sole sufficiency. He would have you know that He alone is your help and your healing, and that His precious blood alone can cleanse the conscience and quiet the memory.

You ask that something might be removed from your memory. The Lord knows what thorn presses you, what recollection wounds you, and He sees God in all that checkers life. Go alone with God as the Psalmist did and say, I have declared my ways and Thou heardest me, teach me Thy statutes. Tell the Good Physician, as far as you can, what you feel and what is the disease from which you are suffering, and rejoice that you have obtained an audience, for He has heard you. He can wash the memory with the blood of Jesus, He can give you that peace which comes from trusting and not fearing, so that you may say with the Psalmist, What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. I will trust and not be afraid.

You shall not be left alone in this trial, for though you turn from trusting in man, you shall find you are not alone, because the Father is with you. Christ Himself trod the winepress alone as to men, yet could say I am not alone, because the Father is with me. So you, struggling child of God, may throw your arms about your God and say My God, my God, even when no sensible joys are felt, and walk by faith. Those that have trusted in God find Him to be as real as if they could see Him.

Let us pray for you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whose blood alone we have salvation, look upon this weary heart. Thou hast heard the declaration of its ways. Grant healing to the memory that is burdened, wash it, quiet it, and renew the mind by Thy statutes. Teach this soul to trust in Thee alone and not in man, to find Thee a very present help, and to rest in the finished work of Christ. Give grace to forgive where there has been hurt, to forget what should be forgotten, and to remember Thy mercy which endureth forever. Keep this one alone yet not alone, for Thou art with him. Amen.

Take God at His word and believe Him. If you trust your soul with Christ and with Christ alone, He cannot cast you away, for His promise cannot be of none effect. Look alone to Him for healing, and He will sustain you in the prospect of every trial and keep you to the end.

Your prayer has been brought before the Lord and we join you in it. You asked God to remove something from your memory and to teach you not to put your trust in people, and you asked this in the name of Jesus Christ. God hears even the prayer that is spoken quietly in the heart, and He draws near to those who call on Him with sincerity.

It is right and wise to learn to put your trust not in people but in God. Scripture says, cursed is the one who trusts in man and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, and it is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. People will fail us, even when they do not mean to, but the Lord never fails. This does not mean we live with bitterness toward others, but that we build our hope on Him alone, who is faithful and unchanging.

You also asked for God to take away what burdens your memory. God is able to heal the mind and to give peace to the thoughts that trouble you. He does not always erase the past in an instant, but He can wash the wound, take away its sting, and renew your mind day by day so that what once caused pain loses its power over you. As you bring this to Him again and again, He will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus and give you rest.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our only Savior. You know this heart and the memory that weighs upon it. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing. Where there is pain, bring Your comfort. Where there is a memory that harms, we ask You to take away its power, to cleanse the mind, and to fill it with Your peace. Teach us to trust not in people but in You alone, to set our hope fully on You, and to walk in wisdom and grace toward others. Renew the mind by Your Spirit and by Your Word, and help this dear one to know Your nearness and Your faithfulness each day. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Continue to bring this before the Lord in prayer, and stay in His Word, for His Word brings light and healing to the soul. If painful memories return, do not be discouraged. Keep coming to Him as a physician who never tires of healing, until He gives full peace. He is patient and He is able to restore you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest prayer has been heard and it touches on two deep needs that many carry, the pain of a memory that will not leave you and the hurt that comes from trusting people who let you down.

God knows you personally and He knows the situation you are in, the trial you are facing and the thoughts that weigh on you. It is comforting to remember that He is good even when circumstances do not feel good, and that truth is received by faith as you take Him at His Word. Your relationship with Him does not rest on your worthiness or on your ability to keep the law, but on faith in Jesus Christ alone. Like Abraham, when you believe God it is counted to you for righteousness, and through Jesus who is the mediator between God and man you are made a child of God by faith.

When memories are painful it is natural to ask God to simply take them away. God does heal, but His healing is often more like a surgery than a quick erasing. He may allow a painful cutting in order to bring a deeper healing, to bring you to a place of repentance and renewed fellowship where He can restore you. That process can hurt and take time to recover from, yet His purpose in it is always to heal and to bless, not to harm. He does not forsake His own. Jesus Himself bore being forsaken on the cross so that you would never have to be forsaken by God.

You also asked to learn not to put your trust in others. People will fail, and whenever we lean on human wisdom or the arm of flesh instead of the Lord we put ourselves in a vulnerable place. Scripture teaches that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If trusting God feels hard, it is often because we do not yet know Him well, and the way to know Him is to be nourished in His Word. As you stay in the Word and in close fellowship with Him, you will find strength and peace and security that people cannot give. God is looking for hearts that are fully turned toward Him, not perfect people but ordinary, flawed and weak people who will trust the eternal God rather than themselves. He still claims you as His own even when others have disappointed you, and He wants to use your life as He flows His grace through you.

Do not go backward away from the Lord because of hurt, but press forward closer to Him. Serving the true and living God will make you a better person and bring good into your life, while trusting in empty words from people only leads to more pain.

I pray for you now that God will bring healing to that memory, not just to cover it but to heal the wound underneath, and that He will teach you through His Word to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ. May you experience His mercy, know that you are His child by faith, and find that He is faithful when others are not, and may His peace guard your heart as you learn to walk in deeper trust in Him alone.
