We join you in lifting up this guy and the people in his life before our heavenly Father, and we thank you for having a heart that desires their salvation. It is the will of God that all should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, for He desires that no one should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9. We rejoice that you have brought this request in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6.

Your prayer is heard and it is right and good to bring it before the Lord, for intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears and it is exceedingly prevalent. There is nothing which intercessory prayer cannot do when it is offered through Jesus Christ, and great honor is put upon us that we are permitted to open our mouth before the Lord for those who are in need of salvation.
We join you in this holy work and we agonize with you in prayer to God, as the apostle desired the brethren to strive together with him. Prayer is the most essential thing in turning sinners from the error of their ways, and we have this assurance that Christ Himself ever lives to intercede. He says, I have prayed for you, and His prayer is prevalent and prevenient. Before temptation comes He has already prayed, and if Jesus pleads He must prevail.
Therefore we entreat the Lord with you that He would save this man if he be yet without Christ, and save all those round about him who are in need of salvation. We believe and confess that salvation is in Christ Jesus alone, with eternal glory. It was the cross that saved and converted the world, drove away error, brought back truth, and fashioned men into angels. Because of that cross, death is no longer death but a sleep, and all that wars against us is cast down. Keep this engraved upon your mind, that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth through His Son.
I pray with you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I ask for Your mercy upon this man and upon all the people in his life who do not yet know You. If any of them is still perishing and does not know the things that lead to salvation, open their eyes. Draw them to Yourself, grant them repentance and faith in Christ alone, and make them partakers of the salvation that is in Him. Help them to see that the word of the cross, which seems foolishness to those who perish, is in truth Your wisdom and power.

Thank you for sharing these burdens so honestly. It is a good and Christlike thing to intercede for others, to bring them before God when they cannot or do not bring themselves.
Scripture gives great confidence for this kind of prayer. Jesus Christ died and rose again and is now at the right hand of the Father, and He lives to intercede for us. As it was prophesied, He intercedes for transgressors, and He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him. Even as one believer once pleaded with another to receive a former offender no longer as a guilty servant but as a beloved brother, so Jesus pleads for us, that our guilt would be placed on His account and His righteousness given to us, that we who were stained by sin would be washed clean and received as sons and daughters.
You also do not pray alone. When we do not know how to pray as we should, the Holy Spirit Himself helps our weakness and intercedes for us according to the will of God, with groanings too deep for words. The Father who searches hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, and the Spirit prays for the saints in line with God's perfect will. That is a comfort when a request feels too heavy or too complicated to put into words.
Underneath all of this is the love of God demonstrated once for all at the cross. Not that we first loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, and if He has given us His Son, how much more will He graciously give us all that we need in Him. His name itself declares this, that the Lord is our salvation, and He came to save His people from their sins. His grace is what brings salvation, and it teaches us to turn from what is ungodly and to live in a way that honors Him.
So I join you in praying for the man you mentioned and for the people in his life. I pray that if any of them have not yet received Jesus Christ, God would open their eyes to see their need and His provision, and that they would not put off His offer. Now is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation.
