We join you in lifting up these burdens before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for your compassionate heart for the salvation of others, even strangers you have seen on the street and a driver and the people in their lives. It is beautiful that you are interceding for their souls, for this reflects the heart of God who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:3-4. We also hear your cry for your own heart to be softened and delivered from the past, for your mind to be cleansed of distressing memories and sounds and faces that trouble you, and for guidance about leaving the shelter and relocating.
We rejoice that you have come in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, John 14:6. Your faith in calling upon His name is the foundation of every prayer we offer together.
We pray for the woman you saw on the street and the driver and all those connected to them. We do not know their needs but God does, and we ask that if they have not yet believed on the Lord Jesus that He would draw them to Himself, open their eyes to the gospel, and grant them repentance and faith. We are reminded that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9.
Concerning the song and the voices and faces you long to have removed from your memory, we understand how painful intrusive memories can be. God does not always erase our memories but He promises to renew our minds and to heal the brokenhearted. We bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5, and we ask God to help you dwell on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, Philippians 4:8. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2. We pray He will replace tormenting recollections with His peace and fill your mind with His Word and His songs.
We also lift up your request for a softened heart and deliverance from the past. God promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, Ezekiel 36:26. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3. Do not remember the former things, and do not consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Isaiah 43:18-19. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17. We ask Him to gently soften what has been hardened by hurt, to forgive what needs forgiving, and to free you from any bitterness or pain that keeps you bound.
We bring before the Lord your desire to leave the shelter soon and to relocate. We pray for His clear guidance and provision, for He promises I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you, Psalm 32:8, and For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. We ask that He would open the right doors in His perfect timing, provide safe housing and community, and give you wisdom to know where He would have you go, trusting that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him, Romans 8:28.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. Lord we ask for the salvation of the woman seen on the street and the driver and every person in their lives who does not yet know You. Draw them by Your Holy Spirit and bring laborers across their path to share the gospel. Father we ask You to soften this heart that cries out to You, create a new heart and renew a right spirit within, wash away the pain of the past and deliver from every memory that torments. Take captive every unwanted song and sound and image and replace it with Your peace and the remembrance of Your goodness. Heal the wounds that still ache and set free from all that binds. Father guide every step regarding leaving the shelter and relocating, provide shelter, provision and safety, and make Your will unmistakably clear. Let Your will be done in every area of life. We trust You to answer according to Your perfect love and wisdom. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to remain in prayer and in the Word daily, letting God renew your mind day by day, and to seek godly counsel in the shelter or a local Bible believing church as you make decisions about relocation. God sees you, He is near to those who are of a broken heart, Psalm 34:18, and He will not forsake you. Keep casting all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and keep interceding for the lost as you have been doing, for such prayers are precious in His sight.
