We join you in bringing this burden before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.
We understand how distressing it can be when an unwanted image or a sound or song lingers in the mind and will not leave. We know our God cares about the thoughts and meditations of our hearts and He desires to give us peace and a clean mind fixed on Him.
The scriptures remind us to guard what we allow before our eyes and ears, as you have prayed to do. Psalm 101:3 says I will set no vile thing before my eyes. And we are called to take control of our thoughts rather than letting them control us. 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us we are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. God does not want us conformed to the distractions of this world but transformed by the renewing of our minds as Romans 12:2 teaches, and He promises perfect peace to those whose minds are steadfast on Him. Isaiah 26:3 says You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.
We also take comfort in Philippians 4:8 which says Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. When an image or music troubles us we can choose by the power of the Holy Spirit to replace it with what is pure and lovely and true from God's Word.
We pray together with you now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this need to You. We ask that You would in Your mercy remove this image of this person from our dear one's mind and silence every lingering sound of this music that is causing distress. Wash the mind and heart clean and renew a right spirit within. Psalm 51:10. Fill this place in the thoughts with Your presence, Your Word, and Your songs of praise. We ask that You guard the heart and mind with Your peace which surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7, that Your peace will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus. Help us to fix our eyes on You and to meditate on Your goodness and truth. We rebuke any distraction or oppression that is not from You and we ask for Your deliverance and freedom. Let our thoughts be pleasing to You and centered on Christ. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus' name and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every troubling thought to the Lord in prayer the moment it comes, to speak the name of Jesus over your mind, and to replace what you want removed with scripture, worship, and prayer. Reading the Word aloud, singing a hymn or worship song to the Lord, and memorizing verses can help crowd out what you do not want to dwell on. God is faithful to give you rest and to renew your mind day by day as you trust in Him.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who knows the thoughts He thinks toward His people.
The Scripture declares, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Even when trials are grievous and the mind is troubled by images and sounds that will not depart, His thoughts toward you are peace. He seeks your peace, He creates your peace, He sustains your peace.
We are reminded also of that precious promise, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Perfect peace is not found in striving to forget alone, but in staying the mind upon Christ. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to do the will of Jesus is rest. When the heart and flesh are weary, the Lord Himself will keep you.
Therefore we pray for you, that the Lord would graciously remove from your mind the image that troubles you and the sounds of music that linger where they are not wanted, and that He would cleanse and keep your thoughts. May He renew your strength as you wait upon Him, and grant you that baptism into the Spirit of God which makes a weary one to rise as another man. May He fill your mind with His own precious thoughts, so that when you awake you are still with Him.
We encourage you to set your mind steadfastly upon Christ, to fill it with what is revealed by God in His Word, to turn from every vanity that would spot the soul, and to seek Christ first, for peace will come next. As you trust Him, He will keep your heart and mind.
