Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for the owner of trending tracks and for the people in that person's life is precious to God and reflects His own heart. He loves the world and gave His Son to be the payment for our sins, and Jesus proved that love by laying down His life for us. There is no greater love than that, and God desires that none would perish but that all would come to know that love through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone is salvation.
Thank you for standing in the gap for someone you may not even know. That is what intercession is. It is asking God on behalf of others, bringing their need before Him. Prayer is not trying to inform God or to give Him detailed instructions. It is consenting to Him, opening the door for Him to do what He already desires to do. He has given every person a will and He will not force Himself upon anyone, but when we pray we invite Him to work in lives and to draw hearts to Himself.
Prayer always rests on relationship. Through Jesus we can come to God as Father, and His ear is open to His children. For those who are not yet His children, the one prayer He is waiting to hear is, God be merciful to me, a sinner. That prayer establishes the relationship that makes all other prayer possible. Your intercession is asking God to bring people to that very place, to see their need and to call on Jesus for mercy and new life.
Do not underestimate what your prayer can do. Prayer is not limited by distance or circumstance. Even when we cannot be present or speak directly to someone, God can work in their heart as we pray. Those who have been used by God have always been people of prayer, laboring fervently and continually, holding others up before the Lord by name. God works through that quiet, faithful work more than through mere activity.
He also teaches us how to pray. True prayer includes worship, an awe of who God is, and it includes bringing our own needs and the needs of others before Him, always seeking that His kingdom would come and His will would be done. It is not about long speeches or repeated words to be heard. It is simple, sincere trust in a loving Father.
So we join with you in agreement now. Father, we thank You for Your great love and for the gift of Your Son. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would draw the owner of trending tracks to Yourself, and each person in that life, if they do not yet know You. Open their eyes to see Your love, convict them of sin, and bring them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Do for them what You have done for all who have loved Your name and trusted Your Word. Order their steps in Your Word and lead them into life. We ask this according to Your loving kindness and Your will. Amen.
Continue to bring them before the Lord. He hears, He loves to answer, and He is able to save completely.
