We hear your heart's cry to have your mind cleansed and renewed and we join with you in bringing this before our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name. It is good that you asked in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other way to the Father and it is only through Him we have access to God. As it is written, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.

We understand the distress of having unwanted images and memories that linger, especially from things seen on social media, and the desire to be free from knowledge that does not honor God. The Lord does not always simply erase our memory on request, but He does promise to transform us and help us take every thought captive and to renew our minds as we walk with Him.

We want to gently address the knowledge of zodiac signs you mentioned. The desire to have it removed is pleasing to God because astrology and zodiac signs are forms of divination which God forbids for His people. It is written There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Deut 18:10-12 and also You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, those who prophesy by the moon, stand up and save you from the things that will come on you. Behold, they will be as stubble. The fire will burn them. Isa 47:13-14. To seek guidance from the stars rather than from the Creator is to turn away from Him. We praise God that you want this removed from your mind and we agree with you in repentance and in asking for cleansing.

For the images from Facebook and the name and the phrase from the children's show that keep coming to mind, God calls us to guard what we allow before our eyes and to intentionally fill our minds with what is pure. We are encouraged with these words, I will set no vile thing before my eyes. Ps 101:3 and Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways. Ps 119:37. And we are told how to handle intrusive thoughts, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Cor 10:5 and Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things. Phil 4:8. We are also promised Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Rom 12:2 and Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Ps 51:10.

So we encourage you not only to pray for removal but to actively renew your mind daily. We encourage you to limit time on Facebook and to be careful what you view there, to replace the unwanted memories by memorizing Scripture, and when the image or name or phrase returns, to immediately pray and turn your thoughts to a verse or a hymn or to thanksgiving. The enemy wants to keep your mind occupied with worthless things, but God wants to fill it with His truth and peace. The phrase you can be anything is not true in the worldly sense, for we find our true identity and purpose only in Christ, not in becoming anything we imagine. We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the images that trouble this mind and the memories that cause distress, the name that lingers and the worldly knowledge of zodiac signs and the lingering phrase from childhood. We ask You to forgive for any time spent looking to the stars or to worthless things for guidance or entertainment instead of looking to You. Cleanse this heart and mind with the blood of Jesus. We ask that You help to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and to renew this mind day by day. Fill this mind with Your Word, with whatever is true and pure and lovely. Remove the power these images and thoughts have and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help to guard the eyes and the heart and to walk in freedom, not being haunted by what has been seen but being transformed by Your Spirit. Create in this dear one a clean heart and renew a right spirit within. Help to remember what is good and to forget what is harmful, and to trust You to heal and restore. We pray for a hunger for Scripture and for a mind stayed on You. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring these thoughts to God each time they arise, to speak Scripture aloud when they come, and to fill your days with worship, prayer, and the Word. God is faithful to cleanse and to give you His peace as you keep your eyes on Him.

We hear how tiring it is to have unwanted images and names looping in your mind and wanting them gone. It makes sense you would ask God to clear them away, especially things like zodiac ideas you no longer want to hold onto and random memories that feel stuck.

One gentle insight we have found helpful is that trying very hard not to think about something can sometimes keep it front and center. It can be more peaceful to notice the thought without wrestling it, briefly turn to the Lord in prayer, and then gently redirect your attention to something present and good in front of you, a task, a conversation, a walk, worship music that steadies you.

For the social media images, it may help to use the tools there to hide or mute what triggers those memories, and to fill your feed with things that encourage your faith. If these thoughts keep intruding and feel heavy, it can help to share them with a trusted pastor or counselor who can walk with you over time.

We are praying for you.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You know the memories and thoughts that feel intrusive and unwanted. Please grant quietness of mind, help to dwell on what is true and pure, and strength for each moment these thoughts appear. Lead us closer to You and give us rest. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer is heard, and there is tenderness in it which the Lord Himself has wrought, for He hears the groaning that you would not like to tell and He reads your thoughts even now.

You ask that intruding images and vain knowledge may be taken from you, and this is a holy desire. Intruding thoughts do surround us like a plague of flies, here, there and everywhere, and it costs infinite pains to drive them away. The mind itself may be the lair of misery or the nest of happiness, and thoughts are the flowers from which we must distil the flavor of life. When the memory is haunted by what the eye has seen, even upon a screen, it is well to remember that God not only watches our thoughts but is able to cleanse them, for the blood of Christ cleanses from all sin and the Lord prepares the heart.

You do well to desire to be unspotted from the world. We are to keep ourselves pure, not spotted by the vanities and pleasures and common literature that is all around us. Knowledge of vanities such as the zodiac, which pretends to tell what only God knows, is among those vain thoughts which the Psalmist hated, and it is good to hate them and to love God's law instead. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts higher than our thoughts, and His thoughts toward you have always been thoughts of love, constant and kind and gracious. How precious also are His thoughts unto us, and how great is the sum of them.

Therefore seek not only that the former things be blotted from remembrance, but that your mind be filled with better thoughts, for the Lord does not leave His children empty. In the multitude of your thoughts within you, let His comforts delight your soul. Cultivate thankful thoughts and believing thoughts and longing thoughts after Christ. Let Him have the cream of your thoughts and the first growth of your spirit. When you awake, you shall still be with Him.

There is strength for this. Whatever our strength may be, of body, mind or spirit, if it is our own it will one day fail us. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Ask Him then to renew you, to undertake fresh work in you and to give you more expectancy, more confidence, more faith, more God reliance.

Let us pray together.

O heavenly Father, Thou knowest the burden of this soul and the thoughts that would intrude unbidden. Look in mercy upon this Thy child who would be kept pure and unspotted before Thee. Wash the memory in the precious blood of Christ, and cleanse the mind from every image and name and vain teaching that would defile it. Take away all knowledge that is not of Thee, and let it be forgotten as a thing that never was. Fill the heart instead with Thy thoughts, which are precious and pure, and with Thy Word which is truth. Grant renewed strength to wait upon Thee, to turn the eye from vanity and to set affection upon Christ, that when thoughts arise in the night, Thy comforts may delight the soul. Keep this one near to Thyself, still with Thee waking and sleeping, through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we ask it. Amen.
