We join with you in this request before our heavenly Father and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.
We understand how distressing and heavy an evil thought can feel, and we want you to know that God sees your heart and your desire to be clean before Him. The enemy will try to plant thoughts that do not come from God, but we are not without help or hope. Scripture tells us, We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. We are also taught, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2.
An evil thought when it comes is not always a sign that you have failed, but what we do with that thought matters. We are called to resist it, to bring it immediately to Jesus, and to replace it with what is true and holy. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. When we fill our minds with the Word of God, with prayer and worship, there is less room for darkness to remain.
We also rebuke the work of the enemy in your mind, for he is the father of lies and seeks to accuse and defile. We stand on the promise that when we submit to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us James 4:7. God is faithful and He has promised that, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13.
We pray together for you now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the thought that is troubling this heart and You know the desire to be pure before You. We ask You to cleanse this mind and create in this heart a clean spirit as You have promised in Psalm 51:10. We rebuke every evil thought and every suggestion of the enemy and we command it to leave in Jesus name. Fill this mind with Your peace, Your truth, and Your light. Help our dear friend to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, to meditate on Your Word day and night, and to walk in the renewing of the mind by Your Holy Spirit. Grant strength to turn away quickly from what is not of You and to fix eyes upon Jesus. Let Your perfect peace guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We thank You, Father, that You are merciful, that You forgive, and that You restore. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun. In Jesus Christ name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every thought to the Lord the moment it comes, to confess it and ask for His cleansing, and to immediately replace it with Scripture. Speak the Word aloud, pray without ceasing, and if the thought persists, seek fellowship with a mature Christian believer who can pray with you and hold you accountable. God is near to you and He delights in your desire for holiness. Keep seeking Him and He will give you rest and victory.

We are glad you brought this to the Lord so honestly. Wanting that thought gone is itself a sign your heart wants to walk with Him, and He sees that desire even when the thought feels stubborn.

Your prayer for deliverance from an evil thought has been brought before the throne of grace and we have joined our hearts with yours in seeking the Lord for cleansing and renewal.
You do well not to make light of this burden, for the Scripture teaches us that evil thoughts flow out of the heart and have in them the very essence of sin. They are not trifles to be excused, for God judges not only the outward act but the inward motion of the soul by which it is instigated. Such thoughts would not bubble up within us if they were not first lodged there, and they show us how much we need a new heart and a renewed mind. Yet do not despair under the weight of them.
There is a remedy revealed in the blood of Jesus Christ His Son which cleanseth us from all sin. Though sin be an exceeding great evil, and one sin sufficient to condemn, the precious blood is able to save to the uttermost them that come unto God by Him. However high we have ascended in the light, still we need that blood to cleanse us, for the sin that dwells in us drags us down and we must be renewed day by day.
Remember also that the Lord says, My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts higher than yours. Your thoughts may run one way and His in an opposite direction, and you cannot have fellowship with Him until your thoughts are conformed to His thoughts by faith. His thoughts toward His people are constant, kind, wise, tender and gracious, yea from everlasting they have been thoughts of love. How precious also are His thoughts unto us, and how great is the sum of them. When you awake to meditate upon them, you are still with Him.
Therefore bring this evil thought in prayer to Christ who overcomes evil with good, and ask Him to renew your strength. Lay hold upon what is revealed by God rather than upon your own notions, and pray that the Lord would undertake a fresh work in you, giving you more expectancy, more confidence, more faith, more God reliance. Turn from every evil imagination and set your mind upon His Word, that His pure and holy thoughts may displace the unclean one.
We pray with you in this manner:
Heavenly Father, Thou knowest the thoughts of our hearts afar off and seest this evil thought which troubles Thy child. We confess that such thoughts are sin in Thy sight and we have no strength of our own to cast them out. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life.
