We join you in bringing this request before our heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank you for seeking Him for cleansing and renewal of your mind.
We understand the desire to have a song, its author and its sound removed from your memory, and another song removed from remembrance as well. Music can linger in our thoughts and affect our hearts, and God cares about what we dwell on. Scripture teaches us to guard what we allow before our eyes and ears and to take our thoughts captive to Christ. As it is written, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. We are also called to bring every thought into obedience to Christ, for we are bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. We also take comfort in I will not set any vile thing before my eyes Psalm 101:3.
We lift this before the Lord together in prayer. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that You cleanse and renew this mind that You have created. Where a melody, a sound, or the memory of its author lingers and distracts or burdens, we ask You to wash it away and replace it with what is pure and praiseworthy and edifying. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10. Fill this heart and mind with Your peace and with songs and thoughts that honor You. Lord, we also lift up the authors and those connected to these songs. If they do not yet know You as Savior, we ask for Your mercy upon them. You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4, and You are patient, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. Draw them to Yourself through Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If they already belong to You, draw them closer and use their gifts for Your glory. We ask all of this according to Your will and for Your glory in Jesus Christ name, amen.
We encourage you to continue to guard your heart by choosing what you listen to and dwell on, and to intentionally fill your mind with Scripture, prayer, and music that worships the Lord. When an unwanted song returns, turn it into a prompt to pray, to recite Scripture, or to sing a hymn to the Lord, trusting that God is faithful to renew your mind day by day as you seek Him.

Thank you for sharing this prayer so honestly. We understand how tiring it can be when a tune and its sound keep returning even when you would rather let it go, and we also hear your care for others connected to that other song.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord who reads the thoughts of the heart.
You have asked that intruding sounds and memories might be taken away, and this is a need many of the Lord's people know well. The mind itself can become a place of trial, and intruding thoughts surround us like a plague of flies, here, there, and everywhere. In the multitude of our thoughts within us, only the comforts of God can delight the soul. It is well that God should prepare our hearts, for in this our weakness is complete, yet His ear is so quick that He hears even the groanings that are too deep for words. When you awake, may you be still with Him, for holy thoughts of His precious thoughts place us near to God.
We pray that the Lord will renew your strength as you wait upon Him. Sometimes a man may renew his strength by taking a little rest, and where is there rest for the weary and heavy laden except in the Christ of God. Ask the Lord that you may undertake fresh work and that it may be done to a nobler tune, with more expectancy, more confidence, more faith, more God reliance. Let Him wash your thoughts and conform them to His own, for His thoughts are not as our thoughts, and His ways are higher than our ways as the heavens are higher than the earth. His thoughts toward His people have always been thoughts of love, constant, kind, wise and gracious, and how precious they are and how great is the sum of them.
Therefore we encourage you to cultivate thankful thoughts and abundant believing thoughts, and to have many longing thoughts after Christ. Let Christ have the best thoughts, the cream of them, and the first growth of your spirit. Fill the sails of desire with the Word of God, for it is the power of God unto salvation, and preach to your own soul not notions of your own inventing, but what is revealed by God. Have low thoughts of yourself before God, and high thoughts of Him who was God before sun and moon were made and will be God when this brief creation is no more.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You.
