Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in bringing these burdens before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We are grateful you have prayed in His name.

We understand your heart is asking the Lord to remove these scenes that trouble you, and we stand with you asking for His healing and cleansing of your mind and memory. The Lord knows the weight of intrusive thoughts and painful images and He is near to those who call on Him. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We pray that He will lift this burden from you and replace it with His peace.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear one who is troubled by these scenes. Lord, you know each one intimately and you know the pain or distress they cause. We ask in Jesus name that you would remove their power over this heart and mind, that you would wash away what is not profitable and heal what has been wounded. Grant peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Create in this one a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within them Psalm 51:10. Help them to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to be transformed by the renewing of their mind Romans 12:2. We ask that you fill their mind with whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report Philippians 4:8, so that dwelling on your goodness will crowd out what troubles them. Let them cast all their anxiety on you, because you care for them 1 Peter 5:7, and let them know you will not leave them nor forsake them. In Jesus Christ name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every thought to the Lord in prayer with thanksgiving as Philippians 4:6 reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. As God works to heal and renew, choose daily to fix your mind on His Word, to speak honestly with Him about what you are seeing and feeling, and if these scenes stem from past hurt or sin, to seek godly counsel and remain in fellowship where you can be supported. Trust that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you and that His grace is sufficient to give you rest.

We hear how much you want those scenes lifted off your mind. It is hard when images replay and you just want peace.

We join you in asking God to bring healing to those memories. He sees what has stayed with you and He cares about the pain they carry. Sometimes His healing is not instantly erasing the picture but gently meeting us in the middle of it with His comfort and helping the sting loosen over time.

A simple way to pray when a scene comes may help. In a quiet, safe place, tell Jesus honestly which scene is troubling you right then, just one at a time. Ask Him to be present with you in it and to bring His calm and truth. Then wait quietly for a few minutes, noticing what sense of peace or reassurance He brings, without forcing anything. When you are ready, thank Him and close. If the images feel very heavy or keep intruding, it can also help to share them with a trusted pastor or counselor who can pray with you and walk with you.

We are praying for you.

Father, we bring our friend and these scenes that feel so burdensome. Please cover them with Your presence and give rest to their mind. Bring Your comfort and healing in the way You know is best, and help them sense You near today. In Jesus name, amen.

Your petition has been brought before the Lord and we join with you in seeking His mercy and cleansing. How precious are His thoughts toward His people, and how high are they above our thoughts as the heavens are higher than the earth. He knows the multitude of thoughts that crowd within the soul, the tumultuous thoughts in the night of trial and the intruding thoughts which surround us like a swarm of flies, and He is able to give sacred comforts that delight the soul.

The Lord reads thoughts as well as hears words. He hears the groaning that cannot be uttered and He understands the desire to be made pure and unspotted from the world. It is a blessed sign that you would have these scenes removed from before your eyes and from your memory, for thoughts of evil are in themselves evil, and even to dwell upon the report of sin may leave a spot upon the mind. To keep the garment unspotted we must beware of the vanities and pleasures of the world, the common literature and images that are all around us, and watch unto prayer that we be not spotted thereby.

There is renewal to be had, but it is a work of power, even that power which raised Christ from the dead. Nothing that God has made is self existent and we need daily renewing if we would persevere. Seek then to have your mind filled not with vain thoughts but with thankful thoughts and believing thoughts and longing thoughts after Christ. Let Him have the best thoughts, the cream of them, and when you awake may you still be with Him. Have low thoughts of yourself before God and high thoughts of His grace, for His thoughts toward you have ever been thoughts of love.

We pray with you now. Heavenly Father, look upon this soul that desires to be clean. Forgive what is past and in Thy tender mercy blot out the images that defile and disturb. Prepare the heart and establish it, and by Thy Holy Spirit renew the mind. Take away vain thoughts and write Thy law upon the inward parts. Grant power to turn the eyes from that which would spot the soul, and give instead a love for Thy Word and for communion with Christ. Let the multitude of anxious thoughts be met with the multitude of Thy comforts, and let believing and thankful thoughts bear holy fruit. Keep this one near to Thyself, still with Thee waking and sleeping, and make the thoughts conformed to Thine own, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I join you in bringing this request before the Lord and I thank you for sharing it honestly.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I lift up this dear one to You. You know the scenes that weigh on the heart and mind and the desire to be free from them. I ask You to cleanse the mind and wash away what is impure, and to let Your peace rule in the heart. Grant a renewed mind and a steadfast heart that seeks holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. Help to guard the eyes and thoughts, to turn away from what defiles, and to fill the heart with what is pure and true and pleasing to You. Grant strength to walk in Your way, to live as a living sacrifice to You, and to know the comfort of Your forgiveness and grace through Jesus Christ alone.

May the peace of God, which is steadfast and comes from Him, be the umpire in every inward struggle, giving the victory to what is patient and pure. I pray that you will continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, and to pursue peace with all and holiness before Him. If troubling images return, bring them quickly to Christ in prayer, ask for His help to turn the thoughts to Him, and consider sharing this burden with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you and encourage you. God is faithful to help those who call on Him with a sincere heart, and He desires to make you whole.
