We also understand how music and sounds can affect our spirit and mind. What we allow into our ears and hearts matters. The enemy can use ungodly sounds to bring oppression, fear, or torment. We encourage you to turn away completely from any song that brings this disturbance and to guard your heart and mind with what is pure and praiseworthy. As we are taught in Philippians 4:8, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Fill your home and your ears with worship to the Lord, with scripture and with prayer, so there is no room for the enemy.

It can help not to walk through this alone. When something feels spiritually heavy or a song keeps stirring distress, it often helps to step away from that song for a while and to invite a trusted pastor or a couple of mature believers to pray with you in person, listen to your story, and walk with you over time. You do not have to sort it all out at once, just take the next step of letting someone you trust come alongside you.
We also find that steady, simple habits like regular prayer, time in Scripture, and fellowship with other believers help keep our hearts anchored as God brings healing and clarity day by day.

There is a deliverance from the power of darkness which is the work of God alone, and where we look for justification there must also we look for sanctification. No man can deliver himself from the dominion of sin or the oppression of the enemy. When Israel came out of Egypt it was Jehovah who brought forth His people with a mighty hand, and so it is with every soul that is harassed and haunted. Our deliverance is by Divine power, and it came when the Lamb was slain. The clock of mercy strikes in heaven according to eternal purpose, and God Himself has found a ransom. That word gracious has more music in it than all earthly music, for God looking upon a sinner ready to go down to the pit says, Deliver him, I have found a ransom. That ransom is Christ Jesus our Lord, through whom we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins.
You speak of evil spirits and of a song whose sound troubles your mind. The adversary would insinuate dark and dreadful thoughts and haunt you day after day as with the lash of a taskmaster. Remember that the thoughts of God toward His people are precious, constant, kind, wise and tender. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts as the heavens are higher than the earth, and when our thoughts are conformed to His thoughts we have fellowship with Him and find peace. David said, When I awake I am still with You, and holy thoughts of the precious thoughts of God place us near to God.
Therefore turn from that which distresses the soul and let your mind be filled with better music. Deborah sang concerning the overthrow of Israel's enemies, and we have a far richer theme. We have been delivered from worse enemies and saved by a greater salvation. Let our conversation be concerning Christ and His dying love, concerning the Holy Spirit and His conquering power, and then as we go on our way we shall have music in our hearts and music on our lips. Put away the song that wounds the spirit and take up psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart to the Lord.
