It is encouraging to see your heart to bring these people before the Lord in prayer. To intercede for others is to come alongside the very work Jesus Himself is doing, for Scripture says He ever lives to make intercession for us and is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him. When you pray for the salvation of others, you are praying according to the heart of God.

God has already shown how much He desires their salvation. He did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all. Here is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Jesus tasted death for every person, and through His suffering He became the captain and source of salvation, making a way for many to be brought into glory as sons and daughters. His grace that brings salvation has appeared to all, and it is offered as a gift to be received by faith.

You also prayed for many people by name and situation, and sometimes we do not know how to pray as we should or what words to use. It is a comfort to know that the Holy Spirit helps our weakness and makes intercession for us according to the will of God. The Father who searches the heart knows the mind of the Spirit, and He hears even the groanings that cannot be put into words. Your simple prayer, in Jesus name, for those who need salvation is fully heard.

We join you in asking the Father to have mercy on each person in those two couples and on every person connected to their lives who does not yet know Him. We ask that each one would hear the good news that Jesus died for their sins and rose again, that their guilt would be placed on Him and His righteousness given to them, so that sin that was like scarlet would be washed white as snow. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and God calls each person to repent and believe and to walk in His good design for life, including His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with sexual union belonging only within that covenant. We pray not that God would bless any way that falls short of His design, but that He would save each individual, forgive them, and transform their lives to follow Him.

Scripture urges us not to put off this decision, for now is the day of salvation and now is the accepted time. So we will keep praying that God in His kindness would draw each of these loved ones to Himself today, open their eyes to the cross, and give them faith to receive His grace. May the Lord give you continued love and boldness to keep interceding and, as He gives opportunity, to speak to them tenderly of His mercy.

Father, we thank You for Your great love and for Jesus our high priest who stands as our representative before You. We thank You for the Holy Spirit who helps us pray. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would save each man and woman in these families who is still outside of Christ. Draw them by Your Spirit, grant them repentance and faith, forgive their sins through the blood of Jesus, and teach them to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. We trust them into Your hands. Amen.
