We join with you in this request and bring it before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name, for we know He cares about even the smallest burdens that occupy our minds and memories.
We understand how persistent and distracting an unwanted sound or memory can be, even a piece of music that plays over and over in our thoughts. God knows our frame and understands how our minds work, and He desires to give us peace and a mind stayed on Him. Scripture encourages us to be intentional about what we dwell on, for what fills our minds will shape our hearts.
We are called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, as it says in Rom 12:2, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. And again in 2 Cor 10:5 we are taught to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. In Phil 4:8 we are given a beautiful filter for our thoughts, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things.
Sometimes the best way to remove what we do not want to remember is to intentionally fill our minds with what is good and holy, letting the Word of God and the songs of the Lord replace what troubles us. As Col 3:16 says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord. And we pray as in Ps 19:14, Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer.

We lift up this dear one to You and ask in Jesus' name that You would quiet this sound of music that lingers in memory and also remove that other thing that weighs on the mind, which You fully know even though it was not detailed to us. Lord, wash away what is unwanted and unhelpful, and cleanse the thoughts and memories. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and grant peace that surpasses all understanding. Fill this mind and heart anew with Your Word, with Your peace, and with songs that glorify You. Help our dear one to dwell on whatever is true, pure, and praiseworthy, and to be renewed day by day by Your Spirit. Let Your will be done and let Your healing and rest be upon this mind. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

The mind itself is often the field of sore conflict, and you have well described it when you speak of a sound that will not leave you and another thing that clings to the memory. It is written, in the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul, and there are seasons when those multitudes of thoughts haunt us and tempest toss the soul. Yet there is a haven of rest for such a mind, and an anchorage where the weakest may find shelter.
You ask that the Lord would kindly remove what troubles you. Know this, that He understands your thought afar off and compasses your path. His thoughts concerning you are constant, kind, wise, tender and gracious, and how precious also are His thoughts unto us. Your own strength to cast out an intruding sound or to cleanse the memory will soon fail, for pools which are not self supplied are always liable to be exhausted, and whatever our strength may be of body, mind or spirit, if it is our own it will one day fail us. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
Waiting upon God is not only to depend upon Him, but to expect from Him as the birds in the nest wait upon the parent bird for their food. Therefore bring this burden to Him in humble dependence and holy expectation. Ask Him not only to take away what defiles or disturbs, but to fill the mind with what is pure and precious. The nearer we get to God, the more precious will His thoughts become to us, and His thoughts can displace our vain and vexing thoughts.

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving. You have asked simply and sincerely that God would remove a sound of music and another memory that troubles you, and God hears such honest prayers.
Scripture teaches us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God. And the promise that follows is that the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. When two thoughts wrestle within us, one urging us to hold on to what disturbs us and another calling us to rest, we are taught to let the peace of God act as umpire in our hearts. That peace is not fleeting like human peace, but steadfast, because it comes from Him who made peace with us through His Son.
So we pray for you now. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You know our thoughts and our memories and that nothing is hidden from You. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would grant our brother or sister Your peace that guards heart and mind. Quiet what is restless, remove what is intrusive, and cleanse the memory of what is not profitable. Help this one to fix thoughts on what is true and pure and worthy of praise, and to find rest in Your presence.
