Your prayer has been heard and we join with you in asking the Father for deliverance and peace in Jesus Christ.
God has provided in Christ two great gifts together, deliverance from evil and the supply of what is good. He does not only wash away what troubles us, but He makes us sons and daughters through Jesus and gives us His Spirit so that we can live in freedom. With that freedom Christ has set us free, so we are called to stand fast in it and not return to what once held us.
We pray now for you, that the Lord who delivered His servants from the mouth of the lion will deliver you from every evil work and from every memory that still clings to your mind. We ask Him to cleanse your thoughts from the sounds, words and titles of those songs that have taken hold of you, including the ones you named, and from every other song that pulls your heart away from Him. We ask Him to take away what is harmful and to fill that place with what is pure, lovely and worthy of praise, so that your mind may be renewed day by day.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask You to have mercy on this dear one. Deliver from all troubling memories of music and words that cause distress. Remove these songs completely from remembrance and break their power. Wash the mind and conscience by the blood of Christ, fill the heart with Your Spirit, and let Your word and wholesome songs take their place. Give strength to turn away when those memories return, and give peace that guards heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask this trusting in Jesus alone as Savior and Lord. Amen.
Continue to bring every thought to Christ when it comes. When a lyric or tune returns, turn at once to prayer, to Scripture, and to singing to the Lord what is true and holy. Fill your days with the word of God, with prayer and with worship that honors Him, and ask Him to help you choose carefully what you listen to and watch. He is faithful to keep you, to forgive, and to renew your mind as you walk with Him.
