Your request for deliverance has been heard and we join you in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.
God understands how persistent memories can be, especially when they are tied to music, sounds, words and titles that have fed lust and evil thoughts. Scripture is honest about where much of this struggle comes from. James says that conflicts and desires come from lust warring within us, and John explains that the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life are not from the Father but from the world, and friendship with the world puts us at enmity with God. That means the battle is not only outside of you but inside the heart, and that is where God wants to do His cleansing work.
Music and media in themselves are not evil as objects, but they have great power to bring either good or evil into the mind depending on how we use them. What we sow we will also reap. If we sow to what feeds lust, we reap corruption and confusion. If we sow to the Spirit, we reap life and peace. Part of walking in freedom is learning to hate what God hates. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil and to depart from it, and when we depart from evil God brings health to our inner life. This is not about tolerating or managing evil, but turning away from it completely.
Evil is destructive by its nature. It destroys relationships, it harms the body and the mind, and it dulls our sense of what is right. But the Lord redeems the soul of those who trust in Him, and none who trust in Him will be left desolate. He has promised to cut off the remembrance of those who do evil, and He is able to cleanse your memory and renew your mind. He wants to keep you from evil so that it will not grieve you, and He answers prayer for that protection.
There are real demonic powers, and Scripture shows they are under the authority of Jesus and will be judged. They cannot overcome those who belong to God and are sealed by Him. You do not need to live in fear of them, but in confidence in Christ who has overcome them. At the same time God calls you to guard what you allow through your eyes and ears. Jesus taught that if the eye is evil the whole life is darkened. So guard your eye and your ear, refrain your tongue from evil, turn away from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers, but His face is against those who do evil. Do not try to repay evil for evil, commit your cause to Him and overcome evil with good.
Practically this means making a clear break. Remove what feeds those memories and do not return to it. Replace it intentionally with what edifies and builds you up spiritually, especially music and words that praise God and fill your mind with truth. Fill the room where those songs once played with something that honors Christ. When a memory or sound returns, do not entertain it, pray immediately and turn your mind to Scripture and to worship.
We pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask for Your deliverance for this dear one. Wash away every demonic memory, every sound, word and title that has clung to the mind. Forgive all lust and all evil, cleanse the heart, and renew the mind by Your Spirit. Keep this child from evil that it would not grieve or ensnare again. Fill the mind with what is pure and good, give a hatred for evil and a love for what is holy, and grant peace that overcomes every torment. Lead into a life that sows to the Spirit and reaps life everlasting. We ask this trusting that salvation and victory are in Jesus alone. Amen.
