We join with you in bringing this burden before our heavenly Father in Jesus' name and we thank you for coming to Him through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we approach God and find grace.
We understand your desire to have these images, names, faces, and videos removed from your memory. When something we have seen sticks with us and troubles our mind, it can feel heavy and we long for relief and peace. We want to gently encourage you with what Scripture teaches about our minds and memories. God does not always erase our memories completely, but He promises to renew our minds, heal our hearts, and give us power to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
The Word tells us Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. And we are called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. God invites us not to dwell on what disturbs or defiles us, but to fix our minds on what is pure and good, for whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. He also promises perfect peace to those whose minds are steadfast on Him, You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you Isaiah 26:3.
We cannot simply will a memory away, and often trying harder to forget can make it linger. Instead God calls us to surrender the memory to Him, to ask Him to cleanse and redeem it, and to replace it with His truth. He can take away its power over you, its sting, and its ability to intrude upon your peace. As we forget what lies behind and stretch forward to what lies ahead Philippians 3:13, we are not told God will delete our past, but that He will help us no longer be bound by it.
So we pray for you now.
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You together in Jesus' name. You know the show from those years and the cast and the other video that is troubling this mind. You see every image and thought and You know the desire to be free from them. We ask in Jesus' name that You would cleanse this mind and wash it with Your Word. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10. We ask that You take away the hold these memories have and remove their power to return unbidden. Help our dear friend to take every thought captive to You and to dwell not on what is troubling but on what is true and pure and lovely. Fill this mind with Your peace, Your Scriptures, and Your presence. Where there has been distress, bring healing, and where there is intrusive recall, bring rest. Help us to guard our eyes and ears going forward and to walk in the newness of mind You provide. We trust that You are able to redeem and restore and to keep us in perfect peace as we trust in You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring these thoughts to the Lord immediately when they arise, confessing them and asking Him to replace them, and to fill your mind daily with Scripture, worship, and things that honor Him. If you find certain media opens the door to these memories, we encourage you to turn away from it and to seek fellowship and prayer with other believers who can support you. Your prayer has been brought before the Lord with tenderness, and we join you in asking Him to deal graciously with your mind and memory.
You ask that the images, names and faces from that show from ### to ###, and from another video, might be taken away from your remembrance. We understand the burden of a memory that will not leave you, and how it can weary the soul. Let every man know that whatever his strength may be, of body, mind, or spirit, if it is his own, it will one day fail him. We have no power in ourselves to cleanse our own thoughts or to keep our minds at peace. The sin that dwells in us drags us down, and even when we have walked in the light of God, we still need that the blood of Christ should cleanse us from all sin.
The Scripture says the carnal mind is enmity against God, and that mind which has not been spiritualized by the power of God's Holy Spirit cannot of itself cast out what troubles it. But there is hope for the renewed mind. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. In renewing your strength, ask the Lord that you may undertake fresh work and that this work may be done to a nobler tune, with more expectancy, more confidence, more faith, more God reliance.
We would counsel you not only to pray that those images be removed, but that your mind be filled with something better and holier. The prophet said, Let Jerusalem come into your mind. Let the Jerusalem above, where Christ is, come often into your mind. When troubling memories press upon you, turn your thoughts to Christ who is there, to His finished work, to His promise that He has engraved His people upon the palms of His hands and will not forget them. When you linger under a burden of thought, let Jerusalem come into your mind. In times of weariness and in times of quiet, let Christ and heaven occupy the place where those other images have sought to lodge.
Remembering the works of the Lord strengthens the soul. Seek Him in His Word, in prayer, and in quiet waiting upon Him. As you wait upon Him, He is able to take away the sting and power of what now distresses you, to cleanse the conscience, to give you peace, and to renew your mind day by day, so that what once held you may trouble you no more.

We have heard your prayer and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.
You have asked that troubling images and memories would be taken away, that a show from those years and its cast, and another video, would no longer hold a place in your mind. We understand how heavy it can be when unwanted memories return and disturb your peace, and we pray that the Lord will give you His cleansing and His rest.
Scripture teaches us to set our minds on things above and to let the peace of God rule in our hearts. When two thoughts wrestle within us, one toward what troubles us and one toward what is good, the peace of God is to stand as umpire and give the prize to what is patient and pure and trusting. That peace is steadfast because it does not come from man but from God Himself, who made peace with us through the blood of His Son. Where that peace rules, the heart is guarded and the mind is made new.
We pray that God will renew your mind day by day, that He will wash your thoughts and help you to dwell on whatever is true and pure and lovely and worthy of praise. We ask Him to turn your eyes from what distresses you and to fill your heart with His Word, with prayer, with thanksgiving and with holy remembrance of Christ. To be thankful is to deal with ourselves as God has dealt with us, to submit to Him and to trust His mercy in all things. In lowliness of mind and quiet trust, the Christian finds continual peace, for God is near to those who call upon Him through Jesus Christ alone, who is our only Savior and our peace.
