We join you in lifting up your loved one before our heavenly Father and we thank you for coming to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is through Him we have access to the throne of grace.
We know how heavy the heart can feel when someone we love is facing surgery, and we want to remind you that our God is both our comforter and our healer. Psalm 147:3 tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And in Jeremiah 30:17 He promises But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We cling to the truth that every good physician's skill is a gift from God, and that ultimately our times and our health are in His hands.
We also hear your anxious heart in this request and we are encouraged by Philippians 4:6-7 which says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And Isaiah 41:10 reminds us Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We pray together now for him.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is facing surgery. We ask for Your hand to be upon him, to calm his heart and to grant him peace. We pray for the surgeons, the nurses, and all the medical staff, that You would guide their hands and their minds with wisdom, steadiness, and skill. We ask that You would let the surgery go well, without complication, and that You would bring about a swift and complete recovery according to Your will. We pray for comfort and strength for all who love him and are waiting and worrying, that they would feel Your presence and Your peace that passes all understanding. We thank You that You are the Lord who heals, who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases as Psalm 103:3 declares. We trust him into Your loving care and we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Your prayer for ### has been heard and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are painful and soon urge us to seek a physician or a surgeon for healing, and what a mercy it is that we have a heavenly Physician whose power to heal is ever present.
Scripture tells us that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves bring healing to the nations and change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction in our Lord Jesus, and when the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people there is healing in His wings.
We pray that the Lord Himself will be present in that operating room, that He will grant skill and steadiness to the hands of the surgeon, and that He will strengthen ### in the Lord for all that lies before him. Our Lord took the sick by the hand and lifted them up, and there was healing in that touch. May He lay His own hand upon ### and raise him up again. Recovery may be slow, and as he grows a little stronger and a little stronger may he acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon his trust and affection.
