We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the throne of grace.
You have asked that a father might return to his family, and this is a burden that the Lord Himself delights to hear. The Scripture shows us the heart of the Father, who when the prodigal was yet a great way off, saw him and had compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. That same Father still devises means that His banished be not expelled from Him, and He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself.
We pray that the Lord, who is the Father of mercies, would work in this father's heart to return, and return indeed, from every evil way and from every distance that keeps him from his home. May the Lord grant repentance where it is needed, forgiveness where there has been hurt, and a true turning of heart toward home and toward God. And may He comfort and keep the family that waits, teaching them to trust not in uncertain hopes but in the Father who loves His children and who views those who look to Christ not with dread but with compassion.
We ask also that all who are concerned in this matter may know the perfect restoration that is found only in Christ, for when a wanderer returns to God, he is received as if he had never gone away, and there is joy both in heaven and in the home. May this family be brought to seek first reconciliation with God through faith in His Son, that from that peace may flow peace with one another.

Your prayer for a father who has been taken from his family and for his return home is heard by God, and it is good that you have brought it directly to Him in the name of Jesus Christ.
Jesus taught that we pray to the Father, and that we come to the Father through Him. He came from the Father into the world and He has returned to the Father, and He has opened the way so that we do not need any other mediator or priest to go for us. We have direct access to the Father ourselves when we come in Jesus name. This is possible because the Father Himself loves you, when you have loved Jesus and believed that He came from God. Jesus also said that no one comes to the Father except through Him, that to see Him is to see the Father, and that He does the will of the Father in perfect unity with Him. To come to God is to come through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Prayer begins with relationship. When Jesus taught His disciples to pray He began with Our Father in heaven. It is the privilege of His children to come to Him as a caring and loving Father, whose name is holy. He sees in secret and He rewards openly. He even feeds the birds who do not plant or harvest, and He tells us how much more He will care for His children because we are of great value to Him.
God understands the pain of a family when a father is separated from his home. Scripture shows how deeply Jacob loved his sons, and how Joseph was separated from his father for years while his father grieved, fearing that he would go down to the grave in sorrow. The brothers knew that to keep the youngest son from his father would break their fathers heart. The Lord sees that same sorrow now in a home where a father is missing, and He knows the worry and the emptiness the family feels.
So we pray together to our Holy Father to keep this family in His own name. We ask Him to keep the father safe where he is, to keep his wife and children and loved ones in His peace, and to provide for every need. We ask for comfort for their sorrow and for strength for each day. We ask that those who have authority over his case would act with wisdom, fairness and mercy, and that if it is the Lords will, the way would be opened for this father to be restored to his family. Above all we ask that this family would know the love of the Father through Jesus His Son, and would find their deepest security in belonging to Him, for whatever belongs to the Father belongs to the Son and whatever belongs to the Son belongs to the Father.
