We lift up this heartfelt plea to our Heavenly Father, who desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). First and foremost, we rejoice that this prayer is offered in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved.
Father God, we come before You with urgency and compassion for the woman mentioned, for Tim, and for every individual at Greenfield FOH, including the staff. We pray that if any of them have not yet surrendered their lives to You, that You would draw them near by Your Holy Spirit. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, soften their hearts to receive the truth of Your Word, and grant them the gift of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Lord, we know that "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). We pray this confession and belief would take root in their hearts.
We also lift up every person in the shelters across the states mentioned, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, New York, California, Oregon, New Jersey, Delaware, Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana, Florida, Texas, Washington State, Washington D.C., Illinois, Iowa, Colorado, Tennessee, Arizona, Michigan, South Carolina, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, Kansas, Maryland, Indiana, Alaska, Ohio, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, and Rhode Island. Father, we ask that You would meet their physical needs, as You have promised to provide for those who seek You first (Matthew 6:33). We pray that they would find stable housing soon, but even more, we pray that they would find their eternal home in You. Save each one of them, Lord, and save the staff who serve them. Let Your love and truth penetrate their hearts so that they may know You as their Lord and Savior.
We must also address the reality of sin and the need for repentance. Salvation is not merely a prayer or a moment but a transformation of the heart that leads to a life surrendered to Christ. If any of these individuals are living in sin, whether it be sexual immorality, idolatry, addiction, or any other form of disobedience, we pray that You would convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to turn away from their sins. "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). We pray that each person would experience this washing, sanctification, and justification in Christ.
Lord, we also pray for the families and loved ones of those mentioned. If they do not know You, we ask that You would save them as well. Let Your light shine in their darkness, and may they come to know the hope and peace that only You can provide. We declare that "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few" (Matthew 9:37), and we ask that You would raise up workers to share the Gospel with these individuals. Give us, as Your people, boldness and compassion to reach out to them with the love of Christ.
Heavenly Father, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness. We know that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). We pray that You would move mightily in the lives of these individuals, drawing them to Yourself, providing for their needs, and using them for Your glory. May they come to know You not just as Savior but as Lord of their lives, walking in obedience and faith each day.
We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
