We hear your concern about food safety and the desire for fresh, uncontaminated food. While it’s understandable to want protection from harmful bacteria like Listeria monocytogenes, we must remember that God has given us wisdom, science, and proper food handling practices to mitigate such risks. The Bible encourages us to pray for our daily needs, including our food, but also to exercise stewardship over what He provides.
The apostle Paul writes in 1 Timothy 4:4-5 (WEB), "For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer." This reminds us that food is a blessing from God, but we are also called to handle it responsibly. Proper cooking, storage, and hygiene are ways we honor God’s provision.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the food You provide for our nourishment. We ask that You bless our food and protect us from harm, including contaminants like Listeria. Lord, grant wisdom to those who handle, prepare, and store food so that it may be safe for consumption. We pray for those in the food industry, that they may operate with integrity and care. Father, we also ask for Your provision in all things, trusting that You will meet our needs according to Your riches in glory. Help us to receive our food with gratitude and to use it wisely. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to also take practical steps to ensure food safety, such as following proper cooking temperatures and storage guidelines. God has given us both spiritual and practical tools to care for ourselves and our families. If you are particularly vulnerable to foodborne illness, such as being pregnant, elderly, or immunocompromised, we urge you to take extra precautions and seek medical advice if needed. Trust in the Lord, but also walk in the wisdom He provides.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
