We join you in lifting up Europe before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to extend His mercy and protection over the land. The rising temperatures and threat of wildfires weigh heavily on our hearts, for we know the devastation they bring to homes, livelihoods, and Your creation. We pray for wisdom and preparedness for those in authority, that they may take measures to protect lives and property.
Father, we ask that You would send gentle rains to refresh the earth and calm the winds that fan the flames. We trust in Your power to restrain the elements, for You command even the winds and the waves (Mark 4:39). May Your peace cover the land, and may Your people turn to You in this time of need, seeking refuge in Your unfailing love.
Lord, we also pray for the hearts of those who do not yet know You. In times of crisis, may they recognize their need for a Savior and turn to Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). May this season of trial draw many to repentance and faith in Him.
We rebuke the spirit of destruction in Jesus’ name and declare that Europe will not be consumed by fire or scorched by unbearable heat. Instead, we pray for Your provision, protection, and peace to reign. Strengthen the hands of those fighting fires, comfort those who have lost homes or loved ones, and restore what has been damaged.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. You have done well to bring this concern before the throne of grace, for the Lord governs the winds and the sun, and not a spark can fall without His leave. Europe, where the gospel was first carried by the apostle's vision and a riverside prayer meeting, is still under the eye of Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps. Let us ask with confidence that the heat be stayed and the forests kept from flame, for the Lord can command the clouds and temper the air as easily as He stilled the sea of Galilee.
But while we pray for coolness and safety, let us remember that the greater mercy is the preaching of Christ crucified. The living Saviour is the refuge of His people, and if He is ours we are secure though the earth be moved. So let us join your amen in these two petitions: may the Lord shield that continent from fire and excessive heat, and may He send upon it a gracious rain of His Spirit, turning many from darkness to light. In Jesus' name it shall be heard.

The prayer you have brought is fitting, for we are commanded to call upon God in every need through Jesus Christ our Lord. Do not think that its brevity makes it weak. God does not need many words; he searches the heart and knows the groanings of his people even before they speak. Offer this petition with faith and humility, and he will hear according to his mercy.
Yet while we pray for Europe to be spared excess heat and wildfires, let us also remember that the Lord sometimes permits such troubles to wake us from carelessness. We should not only ask for relief but also examine our own lives and call our neighbors to repentance, for the same God who sends the heat can also send the cool wind, and he is moved by humble prayer.
At the same time, prayer must be joined to works of mercy. If there are those suffering from heat or driven from their homes by fire, do not close your heart to them. Let each person use whatever ability he has, whether money, protection, or labor, for the common good. Nothing is so pleasing to God as to live for the advantage of others, and such love gives weight to our prayers.
Continue then to ask in Jesus' name, and may the Lord in his kindness, through Jesus Christ our Lord, preserve the people of Europe from these dangers, and may he teach us all to fear him and to love our neighbor while we have time. Amen.

Your concern for others and for their safety before the Lord is a good and Christlike thing. To bring the needs of many before God in prayer is true intercession, and Scripture gives us a beautiful picture of what that means.
The apostle Paul once wrote a personal letter to ask a brother to receive back a runaway slave no longer as a slave but as a brother in the Lord, even offering to pay any debt himself. That act is a picture of what Jesus does for us. The Bible says we are accepted in the Beloved, that God receives us as He receives His own Son because we are in Christ. Isaiah foretold that the Messiah would intercede for the transgressors, and the New Testament tells us that Jesus is able to save completely because He always lives to intercede for us. He died, He rose again, and He is at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. He is not condemning you. He has taken your guilt to His own account and stands as your representative.
Because He intercedes for us, we have confidence to come to the Father and to intercede for others. Thank you for praying with kindness for those facing the danger of extreme heat and fire.
