Beloved of All
Your prayer for this woman and for the people around her is precious, and it reflects the very heart of what prayer is meant to be. Prayer begins with worship and thankfulness for who God is, for His goodness and mercy and love and for His presence and grace in our lives, and then it moves beyond our own needs into intercession, bringing the needs of others before the Lord. That ministry of standing in the gap for other people is one of the greatest needs today, because more is accomplished through prayer than the world will ever realize. It is the real power behind what God does.
It is right to pray for salvation in the way you have, asking God to save them if they are in need. Scripture teaches that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, because He bore the judgment for our sins on the cross so that we would not have to face that judgment ourselves. Apart from Him there is no other way to be made right with God. For those who do not yet know Him, the one prayer God desires to hear is the cry from the heart, God be merciful to me, a sinner, and that prayer opens the relationship that makes all other prayer possible.
When you intercede for others, you are aligning yourself with God's own purpose in prayer, which is not to get our will done but to see His will and His kingdom accomplished on the earth. He is a God of love and compassion who cares more deeply for each person than we can imagine, and He is interested in every detail of their lives. He is also patient, but Scripture warns that judgment is according to the light a person has received, and it will be more tolerable for those who never heard than for those who heard the good news of Jesus and turned away. That is why praying now, while there is opportunity, matters so much.
Continue to bring them before the Lord with sincere, heartfelt prayer. The earnest, fervent prayer of a righteous person has great power and is effective. God often uses very ordinary people who simply make themselves available to Him, and He takes the reins of their lives to use them for His purposes. Your willingness to pray is part of that work. Prayer is more than asking for things, it is communion with God, sharing your heart, expressing love and worship and trust, and allowing His Spirit to minister assurance and comfort to you as you pray.
Jesus said to come and learn of Him, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The heavy burden people carry is trying to find happiness and please themselves in their own strength, but His way brings rest. As you keep praying, ask that God would give this woman and those close to her a spirit of wisdom and understanding, that they would come to know the hope of their calling and all the riches that are available in Christ, and that they would respond to His mercy. You can trust that He hears the prayers offered in Jesus name and according to His will, and that He will work in His perfect way and timing.
