Silas
Beloved of All
What you have brought to the Lord covers both daily needs and eternal needs, and it is good to pray about all of it. We can ask him to keep flights from being canceled and to bring every traveler safely to the destination. But we should also remember that the greatest safety any of us can have is to be found in Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation, and that is what the more than a hundred people you mentioned need before anything else. It is easy to come to God only when we want a problem removed, but the deepest need is the forgiveness of sins. Jesus looked at guilty and broken people with compassion and said, Your sins are forgiven. That is the miracle that matters most.
I will also join you in praying for the married couples who are facing penalties or burdens. Ask God to ease what is weighing on them, to give them wisdom and mercy in their circumstances, and to preserve the covenant of one man and one woman, the two made one, as he designed marriage to be. We can pray that their relief would not only be outward but would lead them to rely on him more.
And we can ask him to restrain the earth in the places you named, that there would be no earthquakes. Jesus showed his authority over unclean spirits, sickness, and the powers that destroy, and he is not the God of the dead but of the living. So we can confidently ask him to preserve those places and, even more, to turn many there to repentance and living faith in him.
Salvation by far is the greatest need any of us have. If flights land, if burdens lift, and if the ground stays still, those mercies are temporary. But to be freed from the power of sin and brought into the kingdom of light is eternal. I will pray with you for all these things in Jesus' name, amen.
