The very desire you feel to pray for this woman’s salvation is evidence of God already at work. All true intercession begins with Him; He is the one who stirs a heart to care, to ask, and to press in for another soul. So take courage. This prayer does not rise from you alone. It springs from the Spirit who groans for the lost with a love deeper than we can produce ourselves.

You are standing in a great and hidden ministry. More is accomplished through intercessory prayer than the world ever sees. While so much of life is bound by walls and miles and schedules, prayer knows no such chains. Right where you are, you can reach into that woman’s life and into the lives around her, asking the Lord to break through with His salvation. The fervent prayer of a righteous person truly avails much. It is the power behind the scenes, and God honors it.

When you lift this request, you are not informing a reluctant God of a need He does not know. You are opening the door for Him to do what His heart already longs to do. Jesus laid down His life for His friends, and He is the Savior whose arm is not too short to save. His name itself declares it, Jehovah is salvation. So keep bringing this cry before Him. Ask that her eyes be opened to the hope of His calling. Pray that the good things in Christ Jesus would become real and effectual in her heart. And as you wait, let your own soul be stilled in confidence. The Lord is righteous; He loves to save.

You have chosen the better part by interceding. As the morning dawns and through the watches of the night, your hope rests in His Word and His faithfulness. Let your cry come before Him, and trust that His hand will help according to His perfect will.
