We lift up these two individuals and all those in their lives who may not yet know the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is only through faith in Him that we are saved, as Scripture tells us, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). We pray that their hearts would be opened to the truth of the Gospel, that they would recognize their need for a Savior, and that they would repent and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and eternal life.

Heavenly Father, we ask that You would draw these souls to Yourself. Soften their hearts to receive Your Word and convict them of their sin, leading them to repentance. We know that "no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44), so we trust in Your power to save. Lord, surround them with believers who will share the love of Christ with them and guide them in the truth. May they come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, experiencing the joy and peace that comes from being reconciled to You.

We also pray for those in their lives, family, friends, coworkers, who may not yet know You. May Your Holy Spirit move mightily in their midst, breaking down the barriers of unbelief and revealing the glory of Christ to them. Let Your light shine in their darkness, and may they be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2).

Father, we rebuke any deception or stronghold of the enemy that may be keeping these individuals from coming to faith. We declare that "the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them" (2 Corinthians 4:4), but we stand against that blindness in the name of Jesus. We pray that their eyes would be opened to see the truth of the Gospel and that they would be set free from every lie that holds them captive.

Lord, we ask that You would raise up laborers for the harvest in their lives, men and women who will boldly proclaim the Good News and live out the love of Christ before them. May they see the reality of Your grace through the lives of Your people. We trust in Your promise that "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17), so we pray that Your Word would go forth with power and accomplish its purpose in their hearts.

In all these things, we surrender to Your will, knowing that You desire all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). We thank You for the gift of salvation and for the privilege of interceding on behalf of those who do not yet know You. May Your name be glorified as souls are added to Your kingdom. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this request with us. It’s clear your heart is drawn toward the eternal good of these two people and everyone connected to them, and we’re joining you in that longing. When we pray for someone’s salvation, we’re not just wishing for a decision, we’re asking God to do what only He can do: open eyes, soften hearts, and draw them into the transforming grace of Jesus Christ. And He does that work in His perfect ways and timing, often using the consistent prayers of people like you.

Because you’ve placed these individuals before the Lord, we can quietly trust that He knows every detail of their lives even better than you do. Your prayers are never wasted; they’re part of how God tenderly pursues those who are far from Him. In the meantime, you might keep an eye out for small opportunities to simply be a caring presence, sometimes the most powerful thing we can do alongside prayer is to let our own lives reflect the peace and hope we’ve found, and to be ready to speak honestly when curiosity arises.

Lord Jesus, you see these two people and every person connected to them. Where they are lost, you are the way. Where they are resistant, you are patient and kind. We ask you to bring them gently into the light of your truth, to draw them out of any confusion or isolation, and to surround them with voices and circumstances that point unmistakably to you. Give our friend here a quiet confidence in your mercy, and fill them with peace as they wait. In your name, amen.

It is a blessed work to pray for the souls of others. When we pray for our fellow sinners we are in sympathy with our Divine Savior who made intercession for the transgressors. You have brought two precious names before the mercy seat, and you have done well to include all who are around them. Continue in this holy labour; be importunate, for the Lord loves to hear the cries of His children.

Yet remember that salvation is of the Lord. It is not our prayers that save, but the God to whom we pray. He has laid help upon One that is mighty, even Jesus Christ. Point those for whom you plead to the simple command: "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth." There is no other way. Salvation is without money and without price, a free gift of grace to the very chief of sinners. Let them be told that "He that believes on Him shall not be ashamed." This is the faith that saves the soul.

But while you tarry for their souls, I charge you to examine your own. What if you should be a means of blessing to others and yet be yourself a castaway? If you have never yourself looked unto Jesus for salvation, all your prayers for others will avail nothing for your own soul. You must be born again. You must come to Christ as empty-handed as the vilest beggar, trusting wholly in His finished work. Then your intercessions will rise with power, and the Spirit Himself will make intercession in you.

Press on, then, in prayer, but also in faithful testimony. Speak a word for the Master as you have opportunity. And rest assured that the Lord's arm is not shortened; He is mighty to save. Rejoice in His salvation, for it is a divine salvation, planned in infinite wisdom and sealed with precious blood. Go to your knees again with confidence, for the ear of the Beloved is open to the whisper of His children.

You do well to pray for the salvation of these two and of those in their lives, for nothing is more precious than a soul. What would it profit anyone to gain the whole world and lose their own soul? Yet while you intercede, remember that the One who saves to the uttermost ever lives to make intercession for us. He laid down His life, loving His own to the very end, and His death was the salvation of the world. So take confidence; your prayer is joined to His unceasing intercession.

But let your own heart be right as you pray. If you lift up holy hands, do so without wrath or doubting. For if you harbor unforgiveness while asking God to save others, you provoke the very mercy you seek for them. The sacrifice of thanksgiving we offer in every Divine Liturgy reminds us to forgive as we have been forgiven, so let no root of bitterness taint your petition.

Moreover, know that our own afflictions, when patiently endured, become a channel of comfort and salvation for others. Should you suffer for the sake of the elect, that they may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory, it is a sharing in His sufferings. Do not shrink from hardship or the loss of friendships that pull you away from the narrow path. If you must cut off what harms your soul or theirs, do so without wavering, lest by grasping at the present world you lose all.

Pray, then, with thanksgiving, with forgiveness, and with a readiness to bear whatever cross may come. In this way your prayer will be a true communion with Christ, who is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him.

Your heart in this prayer reflects the very compassion that moves heaven. There is rejoicing in the presence of God over one sinner who repents, and you are joining in that heavenly joy by lifting these two souls before the throne. It is right to cry out for their salvation, because the Lord Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost.

A coin that is lost has no value until it is found and put to use. People far from God are precious to Him, and He searches for them like a shepherd carrying a wandering sheep home. The Holy Spirit is still that searching light, sweeping through the darkness until what was lost is found. Never underestimate how close salvation is. It is not a distant thing someone must climb up to reach, it is as near as the mouth, ready to confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead. Even those who seem farthest gone, the ones the world might call a mess, are still very near to that gift.

Keep asking, keep interceding. That is the secret behind all true prayer: a burden of love for the lost. Jesus Himself ever lives to make intercession for us, so when you pray for these two and those connected to them, you are standing in the stream of His own ongoing work. He does not condemn them; He stretches out His hands all day long. And do not forget your own walk as you pray. To work out your own salvation with fear and trembling is not about earning anything, it is about taking hold of what grace has already provided, delighting in the One who is your light and your salvation.

Today is the day of salvation. No one knows when that appointed time will pass, so every request like yours is precious. It may be that through your prayers, someone will be gained for eternity, a brother or sister forever, even if they seem lost for a moment. Salvation belongs to the Lord, and His name means “the Lord our salvation.” Be at peace: the desire He has planted in you to pray is already a sign that He is at work. He will hear and answer according to His great mercy.
