We join our hearts with yours in lifting up this precious request before the throne of grace. There is no greater need than the salvation of souls, for the Word declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We echo your prayer with fervent agreement, asking the Lord to draw this spouse and all who are lost in their lives to Himself.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would open the eyes of their hearts to see the truth of the Gospel. Soften their hearts to receive Your love and convict them of their need for a Savior. Lord, we know that no one can come to You unless the Father draws them (John 6:44), so we pray for Your divine intervention. Send Your Holy Spirit to work powerfully in their lives, breaking chains of unbelief, pride, and worldly distractions. Let them hear Your voice clearly and respond in repentance and faith.
We also pray for the one who has lifted this request, strengthen their faith as they intercede for their loved ones. Remind them that Your Word promises, "The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). Give them patience and perseverance, knowing that Your timing is perfect. Help them to be a light in their home, reflecting Christ in word and deed, so that their spouse and others may see the hope that is in them.

We hold this longing with you, it’s a beautiful thing when someone’s heart aches for the salvation of a spouse and the people woven into their life. That kind of persistent love is one of the quietest and most powerful ways God’s Spirit stirs. We don’t always see what He is doing in someone’s heart, but we can keep bringing them before Him in simple, tenacious prayer, trusting that He cares more than we ever could. Sometimes the most effective thing we can do alongside praying is to let them see what Christ looks like in the everyday, patient, forgiving, unhurried love can open doors that words alone never will.
Father, thank you that you know this spouse and these loved ones by name, and that you desire them to know you. Please draw them into your light in your time and your way. Give this pray-er steady hope and the grace to entrust these relationships to you, without carrying the weight that only you can carry. In Jesus’ name.

I hear the cry of your heart for a spouse and for those in their life, and it is no small thing that you bring these souls before the throne of grace. The very fact that you plead with the Father in Christ’s name is evidence of the Spirit’s work stirring intercession within you. But remember, the intercession of the saints is never divorced from the Word of truth; we pray, but we also speak. If you desire the salvation of that household, you must be ready to tell them plainly what their condition is and point them to the only refuge, Jesus Christ and Him crucified. All men are approachable at some time; plead with them as you plead with God.
Let none imagine that salvation may be found anywhere else. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. It is not by forms or ceremonies, nor by the bare repetition of prayers, but by a personal looking unto Him. The Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.” That is the whole of it. Tell them, then, to escape from every refuge of lies and go to Jesus, for He alone has been set forth as a propitiation. The salvation of God planned in infinite wisdom and carried out at the cost of the Redeemer’s blood is a divine salvation, and it is preached freely without money and without price. Christ loved His church and gave Himself for it, and He is mighty to save even the unseemly, transforming sinners into saints. There is love that stoops from the highest heaven to the gates of the deepest hell to pull accursed ones out of the pit, but it is all in the Person of the Son of God. You need never fear that a soul who comes to Him will be cast out; His honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep.
Yet be on your guard against a prayer that asks for salvation while the heart remains wedded to sin or self-righteousness. If men bring their good works or their pride to the cross, they have nothing but leanness in store. The only salvation that is saving, that is our own, is God’s salvation, received empty-handed by faith. So continue in intercession, for it is a high privilege, but let your knees be joined by your lips. Speak to them the word of reconciliation; tell them to look and live, for it is that instantaneous glance of faith that brings eternal safety. And though you may see no fruit yet, the Book of Remembrance will one day reveal the value of these hidden prayers.
Above all, set before them the simplicity of the way: look unto Jesus, all the ends of the earth, and be saved. There is no other path for the blackest sinner or the most moral man. God has concluded all in unbelief that He might have mercy upon all. If they will trust Him, depend upon Him without fear, the matter is settled forever. Keep pleading, keep speaking, and leave the whole matter of their salvation in unquestioning confidence with the One who maketh intercession for the transgressors. The Spirit’s intercession within you will yield prayers in a right manner, and Christ’s own priestly office guarantees that what is bound on earth according to His will is bound in heaven.

Your prayer for the salvation of that spouse and those in their life is good, and we lift up the same request with you, for Christ ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God by Him. He is able to save to the uttermost, since He is the eternal High Priest who never dies, and no successor is needed. Trust in that power when you pray.
But while you plead for their deliverance, do not neglect your own soul. It is not possible to place your hope of salvation entirely in another's intercession; after the lovingkindness of God, your own conduct must be pure. If any stain has fallen upon your life, do not sleep in it, but wash it away constantly by repentance, by tears, by prayers, by works of mercy. Let no bitterness or wrath dwell in you when you stretch out your hands, for the Lord hears not the prayer that rises from an unforgiving heart.
And if those for whom you pray are a danger to your own salvation, if their friendship draws you into sin, cut off the harm. Better to lose the broken comfort of an earthly tie than to lose your own soul and theirs. Fix your gaze upon Christ, and be ready even to suffer for their sake, that they may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. Endure whatever hardship this intercession may bring, and do not love ease as Demas loved this present world. Your steadfast hope for them must work in patient endurance, for the Lord is faithful.

Your prayer reaches the heart of what it means to intercede for those we love, carrying their deepest need before the throne of grace. There is something beautiful about laying the eternal welfare of another before the Lord, trusting His mercy and His timing. The very name of Jesus, which you have rightly invoked, means "Jehovah is salvation." He came to save His people from their sins, and His saving work is complete and near for all who will call upon Him.
It is no small thing that God loved us while we were still dead in our trespasses and sins. His love did not begin when we cleaned ourselves up; it was set upon us before the foundation of the world, and He proved it by giving His Son as the propitiation for our sins. This is the great hope we have for every spouse, every family member, every person in our lives. No one is beyond the reach of that love. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and He has never yet turned away anyone who came to Him in honest faith.
Salvation is not a distant, unreachable mystery. The Scriptures tell us it is as near as your own mouth. If a person confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God has raised Him from the dead, they will be saved. That simplicity can be staggering, but it is the power of God. Today, right now, is the day of salvation. The Spirit is still drawing, still pleading. We pray because we know that no human argument can open blind eyes, but God’s grace can break through the hardest resistance.
